oh, oof. fighting or even arguing, with your parents is the worst. finnick furrowed his eyebrows and looked at the girl. “ i … i never said we fought. we just had a disagreement, that’s all, ” he added quickly, not wanting the girl to think the bruise came from his dad. he took a deep breath and shook his head. “ i moved out, and dad just –– wasn’t, you know, too happy with me moving out and taking away basically his income, ” he said and bit his bottom lip. when finnick moved out, his dad lost the money, which meant that he didn’t get his hands on alcohol as much because he barely went to work. when she said he had a banger of a day, he laughed and shrugged. “ thanks, highly doubt that but thanks. i’ll take whatever wishes of a good day i can get at this point. anyway, how about you? other than not getting what you want for the school production thingy through…? ”
“No, but disagreements and fights tend to blur together.” Chaya shrugged. She wasn’t reading too much into it, and even if she were to try personal stuff like this was pretty much the only time when she wasn’t the nosiest person this side of noseyville. “...but your dad sounds like a dick, just saying. Sorry if that is offensive but if the reason he’s upset with you moving out is because of the income he’s got his priorities all wrong.” If she moved out, her parents would be upset that she was gone, not any money that she would take with her. “Well then, you can have all the well wishes you want.” She waved her hands at him. “This is me showering you with well wishes. Other than theatre I haven’t been up to much? School, study, theatre. Oh, I ended up watching a the Land Before Time marathon with my cousin’s kids the other day, but tht is about as exciting as my life has been.”
