I'm afraid my montevideo obsession is comimg back and i desperately need some gay fanfics but I'm too uncomfortable to write them myself because i remember they were real people so like what if they know what I'm doing...GUYS
(as someone who dgaf about football it's so weird to have found a family in these guys +i found only one fic and two accounts so far)
besides how does one comfortably write in their native language...
Tbh tho the series really changed the personalities of some of the real people behind these characters. Apparently, the real Moša was extremely shy. (Don't remember where I read that but sounds fair enough.)
There's barely any information about the other guys anyway, so the series is mostly fictional with borrowed names. And a ton of invented characters. And whoever writes about them will base it on the fictional characters and not the real people so it's whatever.
And it's not like the Ex-Yu people in fandoms are shying away from writing about real people. Most ao3 fics in Croatian are about their politicians, lol.
I'm considering writing a Montevideo fic now because I do need some warm ups before going at my book again...
(Btw my book project is the reason for my lack of activity the past few weeks, just if anyone that was wondering read this far, haha.)

One moment you're reading the Silmarillion by the fire with a cup of tea, and next thing you know you're using terms like Crablor and crispy Amrod and kidnap fam and Comrade Maedhros unironically, much to the concern of your relatives. Time passes and it gets worse. Angbang brainrot makes you write an essay on Melkor being a secret sub. You casually start referring to Finrod v. Sauron as a princess rap battle. You write a second essay, and if you're really far gone it might even be a Fëanor apology. You ship every Finwëan under Laurelin with every Finwëan under Laurelin. You hiss Nerdanel was a little freak too at scared passers-by. You mutter justice for Eluréd and Elurín over breakfast. Your friends pat you on the head and sigh. You curse them in flawless Quenya.
oh oh... i'm in that process.... and i might pull my friends into it as well.... @breakfastbymoonlight @bookhorses, am i not right, eh?
The process seems to already be nearing it's end, dear. The single missing piece would be the language, but you're no farther than having created a flashcard deck, at least the last time I checked. I have been spared from linguistic envy, but for how long? Please let me finish learning Japanese before I start a language even less useful to me than my beloved Ancient Greek.
