milky's illustrated turian headcanons #1: TURIAN ANATOMY!

thank you to everyone who expressed an interest and encouraged me to start this series! and thank you to garrus vakarian for agreeing to model. a lot of this I've already talked about in this turian anatomy hc post, but not all of it. I hope you like it!

please note that I am not a biologist or scientist of any kind. I've done my best to research and think things through, but I might not always be a hundred percent accurate, especially in my anatomical illustrations. that said, I'm really pleased with the skull shape I came up with :)

about the female turian: I reject most of the design the ME3 Omega DLC introduced as it is largely nonsensical and they clearly valued sex appeal over lore and anatomical consistency, which is a shame. this is what I go with instead! I've decided that while I think the curly plates are cute, they do make more sense as a rare family trait than as a sexually dimorphic one. the turian I show here doesn't have the trait, but others might, including males!

I think there’s such a beautiful parallel between Thane meeting his wife through the scope of his rifle - standing between him and his target, and Shepard doing the exact same for Garrus.

Irikah blocks the bullet not because she knows either person but as a defiance of violence. She has such a firm belief that no one deserves to die or deserves to kill - that she’s willing to put her life on the line and stare down the scope.

Shepard does it to stop Garrus becoming a tool of violence and vengeance - arguably what Thane was used as. Maybe it’s a sense of guilt considering Shepard is largely responsible for recruiting him but I think it’s more loyalty and devotion than anything.

Anyway I’m really normal about Garrus and Shepard.

Even my most renegade Shepards, which I have been making progressively more Renegade as I do more runs, do not let Garrus take that shot. And I have not romanced him yet.

I wish there was a way to look Sidonis dead in the eyes and say, "I didn't do it for you."

Because, that has never been why I did it. Garrus has killed before, a lot. He has killed in anger before, I have even let him kill Dr. "Heart" before. But this is different. This is a line I cannot let him cross. Murdering a man, in cold blood, on the Citadel no less, the place he swore to protect. That's not something I can let him have on his conscience. Traitor or not, Sidonis was still on your team. That bond doesn't just go away. You'll have to kill a part of yourself too if you take that shot and I will not let you do that.

I don't let him pull the trigger for the same reason Garrus will if you can't talk down the Virmire Survivor and you can't bring yourself to. I have to protect you, even if I f***ing hate how.

Garrus is the most loyal squadmate in the Mass Effect franchise, and loyalty goes both ways or it means nothing.

Dress Up, Alcmene.

Last session we pooled together some gold between the Bard and myself so my girlie could have a fancy dress to wear for this upcoming auction infiltration mission we are about to do.

The dress cost a lot...so I want to find more excuses to have Alcmene wear it. Also in game, it took four hours for the tailor to make this, which is insane but I believe it.

Yes, the dress is inspired by the Sea of Stars from Infinity Nikki, and it looks so good on her.
