🎬 Bi The Way I Am 🎬
This pride month I’m happy to share that I recently worked on a full-colour slice-of-life comic written by Mae Grenade as part of Lifeline Comics’ latest LGBT+ comic anthology, "Bi Bi Bi"; which features more than 20 stories by queer authors covering all corners of the Bi experience! 🥳🎉 The Kickstarter is live until July 3 2026 and has a bunch of bonus perks to peruse including digital editions, print editions, pins, bundles, and more!
💙💜🩷 Go show the Kickstarter some love! 🩷💜💙
Ey, good news. I got a fulltime job!
Goodbye to being bread crumbed financially by ts!!! (I have one last merch thing to finish up that I started before being hired but after that I’m finally free!!!)
I am sososo sorry to bother you with more thomas sanders bullshit but. Harpies are traditionally an all-female species.
If you remember anything from Virgil's concept process, was this ever pointed out? Or is it just a "well, it's fantasy, we can do whatever" moment?
It’s a personal decision for me to not genderlock any dnd races so I used that logic here. It’s fantasy and fun, ye.
Since Virgil isn’t my original character, I can’t change his gender, but harpy really felt right for his character and the plot.

This is Disk, 1st Chair in the Bard's College Court of Chairs. (she/her)
Together, they make the Disk Jockey duo that use rapidly changing tracks and hypnotic synth wave beats to fit any battle style. They're formidable, dangerous, but hot af and goofy.
They are actually both warforged characters who chose to have augmentations akin to their fav creatures - Disk being batlike & Jockey being doglike. lol.
Disk is ace & not incredibly interested in people - she's more interested in constantly improving her skills and music. She's kind, but very strict - though it's not always apparent by her mischievously dry attitude.
Jockey is Bi/Pan and ExTREMELY flirtatious. He loves attention and being in the spotlight. He gets a bit down in the dumps if people ignore him or don't pat his head. And his mood is often visible on his pixelated features and tail wags. This demeanor can sometimes lower people's guards though - which is dangerous, because he is incredibly strong and still very dedicated to "following the bard college rules" and enforcing them.
Here's a cute doodle of Jockey flirting with Cedar (player character oc of erin's) by erin -> https://bsky.app/profile/rainydaysketch.bsky.social
Please feel free to ask any more questions! eheh - there are 7 Court of Chairs in total. Not all have a lot of art cuz the campaign is still pretty fresh - but I adore this story and all my player's lovely characters <3 thank you for your interest <3
WOOOO I KNEW SHE WAS BATTISH SHE IS WAYYY TOO EAR
I'm sorry if the questions are a lot 😅
It is so interesting knowing that they're warforged, that means that they were made specifically to fit the roles of first and second chair doesn't it? Or maybe they got lucky? I feel like it's a given but you can never be %100 sure.
they work together well in combat, do they like eachother? do they have a good relationship.. does it even matter if they like eachother or would it be evil regardless...
I've always been super interested in the structure of the bard college, how has each (available) character found themselves with that power? Is the trading of birthnames for instrument names an intentional message for the trading of humanity for power?
there are seven court of chairs, so is that seven different sections? (like, a head of money, a head of entertainment, a head of military)
do disk and jockey have dreams.. do they have wants.. does disk like long walks on the beach whats her number when is she free.
It seems like jockey himself doesn't mind his placement being so social already and so willing to abide by the law of the place, but being entirely focused on her own growth, does disk want more? less? do either have songs that remind you of them?
Aaa I love your excitement about the characters and show!!
And genuinely, you’re asking GREAT questions. But - since we are still currently playing this campaign and my players follow me here, I can’t actually answer a lot of these questions! Lol, I don’t want to spoil it for them OR y’all if I end up sharing it as a series lol.
Question I can answer:
- Disc & Jockey do have individual desires for things. Pursuits and passions that they have developed.
- They work exceptionally well together in combat. A nearly unstoppable duo. They get along well enough outside of combat lol. I would compare their dynamic to early Claudia & Soren from the Dragon Prince. Or even Katara & Sokka from AtLA. They care very much for the other but also they’ll bicker and disagree. But if someone else speaks ill of their sibling, it’s game over for them.
- Disc is single but cell phones don’t exist here. Snail mail or bust homie. And she mainly resides in a castle. In the sky. GL.
- The 7 chairs are comprised of the most skilled bards training at the bard’s college. It’s a bit competitive to get into the counsel, and there have been chair reassignments over the years.
Current chair lineup; Disc, Jockey, Organ, Cello, Harp, Otomato, & Kalimba.
They oversee different facets of the bard college but also act as advisers and counsel members to the bard king.
- ooo I have been working on playlists for all of the chairs but none of the playlists are polished yet. I’m going to sit and think more about their fav songs cuz rn it all feels a lil surface level on their playlists. Lol.
why is noise cursed
* Thank you for asking about my beloved OC, who I have absolutely obliterated out of love <3. In the Ch 3 flashback, we see Noise as a child, same age or around Youngblood's age, training to be a bard in the bard's college. However, in the initial ch 3 fight scene where Noise is introduced, it is shown that Noise is a warlock, not a bard class. This means he serves under a pact with a higher power - and in his case, that power is the Bard King himself. This pact is bound by blood within his family line: generations sworn to serve whoever rules the Refrain. When the Bard King ascended the throne, Noise’s family pledged loyalty to him, and in return, their lives became bound to his service. From a young age, Noise was raised and trained to become a powerful bard within the college ranks. But while Youngblood excels at singing and music, Noise has never been much of a performer in those areas. Instead, he shines as a dancer. Noise enjoys much of his training, but over the years, he notices how it begins to take a toll on Youngblood. He doesn’t understand the depth of it until the flashback scene, when Youngblood loses control of his powers and accidentally burns Noise’s arm. It’s then that Noise realizes the extent of Youngblood’s suffering - that his training is pushing him beyond his limits, and he’s terrified of what he’s becoming. In response, Noise seeks an audience with the Bard King. He pleads for Youngblood to be allowed to rest and recover, expressing his fears that something is seriously wrong. But the Bard King does not take kindly to being questioned - especially by a servant bound to him by blood and pact. He finds Noise’s request insulting, even laughable. To teach him a lesson, the Bard King punishes him severely. In D&D 5e terms, a warlock who defies their patron pays a heavy price - and the Bard King inflicts his own a maddening pain upon Noise, giving him a thrall-like command to distance himself from Youngblood as punishment for his defiance. That is why he is initially unable to look for Youngblood when he leaves the college. He physically can not follow him. When Noise first sees Youngblood in Neon, he is not breaking his pact or fighting against it - as he was ordered to be there on a mission. However, when he lets Youngblood go at the end of Ch 3, and the Bard King discovers his involvement in Neon and with Youngblood, he is further inflicted by breaking pact again. The more Noise resists the pact, the stronger the corruption grows. Making it act as a full-fledged curse. This was meant to unfold starting in Chapter 5, where Noise’s curse begins overtaking him intermittently as he struggles against it - until the party can eventually find a way to free him in later chapters. *1st sketch art by erin -> rainydaysketch *2nd sketch art by me <3

Echoes of the Refrain
For those curious — I’m currently working on a new campaign for my friends set in the world of Aria, built on the core lore and worldbuilding from what I wrote for Roleslaying with Roman. There will be no mention or connection to any SASI characters or player characters from Roleslaying — this is an entirely new cast of players and their backstories have reshaped the overall direction of the story.
That said, many elements and rewritten pieces of lore from Roleslaying live on in the new campaign, titled Echoes of the Refrain. It follows the musically magical journey of Cedar, Lyra, Kohl, Umbriel, Reed, and Silence.
The Bard’s College remains a powerful presence in Aria, its Court of Chairs serving as the primary enforcers of the Bard King’s will and laws. Meanwhile, the fae goddess “Mother” leads her people in quiet defiance of the College, and the Magistrate of the Mirage’s old kingdom still burns with a dormant longing to reclaim the throne. Here is some art made by my friends & I for the campaign <3 Please let me know what you think & if you'd be excited to see more of Echoes.
the map of Aria:
designed by me in inkarnate.
Cedar - RainyDaySketch (erin) oc. Cedar was brought to Reston at a very young age and raised by Aunt Patty in her orphanage, becoming the first child to call it home. As he grew, he helped Aunt Patty care for the other children who came after him — Fast Timmy, Mel Vinne, and Henderson — who became like little siblings to him. When Aunt Patty first found Cedar, he was clutching a small bunny he named Macadamia… who was later revealed to be Lyra.
art by rainydaysketch (erin) -> https://bsky.app/profile/rainydaysketch.bsky.social
Kohl - ABDillustrates (alex) oc. A skilled blacksmith and welder of battle instruments, he once crafted primarily for the Bard’s College. He has since left that life behind, now dedicating himself to creating instruments that bring him joy, inspiration, and a sense of purpose — far beyond producing weapons of twisted melodies.
art by @abd-illustrates-art
Umbriel - SilentWolf (Katie's) oc. The sole survivor of his family, he often wonders how he lived — pierced by a deadly stone that fell from the sky when the Bard’s College ascended. For twenty years, he has wandered across Aria, following the faint whispers of a voice in his mind. He believes that voice is the very reason he continues to breathe after the devastation of his village and the loss of his family.
art by me & fit by @abd-illustrates-art
Reed - Kuni's oc. They once dreamed of joining the Bard’s College — but now live in quiet fear of their own ambitions. Timid, yet remarkably talented.

Silence - One of my DM/PCs who joins the party — she keeps a very watchful eye on everyone… I can’t say too much about her right now, since my players are following this account LOL.

Roleslaying with Roman: character art
Hi! I’ve been getting a lot of asks and seeing such sweet comments about what certain characters might’ve looked like — and some of the art that was made but never shared — so I figured it was time to make a master post! Since the show has been canceled and won’t be returning (at least not as Roleslaying), I wanted to share everything here. You can read more below about the original series I’m developing based on my writing for Roleslaying. Most of the artwork was created by @abd-illustrates / @abd-illustrates-art, who was an absolute joy to collaborate with. His talent truly brought this series to life, and I hope you enjoy seeing both his finished pieces and concept art for the project. ---
Chapter 1, character lineup
Concept sketches for Chapter 1:
You might notice that this concept work doesn’t include Youngblood! That’s because the original campaign was written for Thomas and Joan to play together.
Joan’s D&D character was Cal (short for Calcifer) — a fire genasi artificer who used their craft to cook up both spicy food and trouble in combat.
Cal Original art & concepts:
Roman & Ryker original concept art:
Ryker’s design went through quite a few changes — we wanted his look to complement Roman’s while still reflecting his elven heritage through the patterns on his armor. In the story, Ryker is an elf who uses magic to disguise his elven features — just as he once used that same magic to keep Reston hidden from the Bard King’s gaze while Roman grew up there.
Chapter 2-3, character lineup:
Chapter 4, character lineup:
Ch 5, character lineup:
The Bard King
The Bard King & Ryker, in their youth:
Ryker and Amadeus (the Bard King) were once married and part of the same adventuring party as Aunt Patty in their youth. When the two decided to start a family, they sought to honor Ryker’s ancestral tradition — receiving a blessing from the fae goddess known as “Mother.”
But the ceremony went terribly wrong. They asked for a blessing upon their soon-to-be-born child — only for twins to be born instead. The fae, ever nurturing yet mischievous, granted her blessing to one child and bound the other with a curse. As a result, Roman was blessed and allowed to live in the mortal world, while his twin, Remus, was claimed by the fae and raised in their realm.
Amadeus, enraged by this cruel twist, sought revenge. Ryker, torn between devotion to his faith and his family, chose to protect the blessed child, while Amadeus turned his fury toward the fae. In his obsession, Amadeus pursued godhood itself, eventually rising as the Bard King. His relentless hunt for “Mother” led him to a lost prince of the fae — Youngblood — whom he took from the goddess and raised within the Bard’s College as a weapon, hoping one day to use Youngblood to reclaim his cursed son and restore his family.
Meanwhile, Ryker raised Roman alone in Reston, keeping the truth of his father’s identity — and the tragedy that separated their family — a closely guarded secret, as well as any tie to his half-elven bloodline.
Additional Character Concepts:
Remus, Logan, & Virgil.
Roman & Virgil's fears - Ryker & Noise
AJ, Gabe Hicks, & Quil
Davi's character.
