Because usually I’m just not in my suite much apart from to sleep. It’s a little different now because of the escorts needed, but hopefully this won’t be a permanent thing. And I’d hate to have a caged animal in the lab and someone to get the wrong idea. I thought fish might be good, and calming too, but there weren’t any. Do you have any suggestions? I would really appreciate that Brennan. I didn’t want to just assume you’d want to help, I mean, I wouldn’t blame you for wanting to spend all your time with just the animals, but that is why I put the general query for help, because I thought others might have some ideas or experience to lend.

Ah, that is understandable. But, I think if you’re really interested, we could find something that would work for you. Fish would be a good option, I’m not sure why there weren’t any available. We could always talk to the Headmaster and see about acquiring some, if we can’t find you anything else. Have you considered something like a bird? I think that could be one pet that might work for you. You could have them in the lab with you, provided that you set up the appropriate amount of perches, and leave toys and snacks for them to occupy themselves with. I appreciate that, that’s very considerate of you Viv. But, I’m really glad to be able to assist. Ill be down pretty much all day, we can meet up and find you the perfect companion.

I’m definitely your guy! The raccoons are amazing, really. They make great companions and are so incredibly smart. But, they do live up to their mischievous reputations. They need things to climb on, holes to hide in, places to explore. You’ll want to keep your raccoon as occupied as possible, with lots of toys and activities to keep their focus. They really enjoy balls and food puzzlers- the puzzle dishes that make them work to get their snacks and treats. I’d also recommend a leash and collar, because you’ll want to take your pet on plenty of walks. Raccoons are actually surprisingly active. As far as food goes, they are omnivores, so you’ll want to make sure he or she has a very healthy and balanced diet. So, make sure you have a variety of things on hand. Vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, and even the occasional handful of dog food, sometimes even insects. Keep in mind that while they are amazing companions, they can be temperamental at times, especially if they aren’t active or being played with enough. I’d be happy to meet you down at the fair and help you pick the perfect one for you.

I know the feeling my friend, I do. Maybe it does. Farm animals are a little different than companion animals, but they’re all great just the same. Whenever you’re free I am- it’s not exactly like we have anywhere to be at the moment.

Has anyone been down to the pet fair yet? I would really like to go and check it out, even though I’m not so sure if I will be a good pet parent. If anyone has any suggestions for easy care animals that might be found at the pet fair, or might be interested in co-parenting a pet with me, please let me know. Even if you don’t want a pet of your own, how often do you get the chance to pet so many animals? And what do you have to do that’s better?
