Wow, what a beautiful day.
I’m thinking… 1 hour? So that’s like, thirty bottles, right?
One hour is not even ten bottles,Rory.

Wow, what a beautiful day.
I’m thinking… 1 hour? So that’s like, thirty bottles, right?
One hour is not even ten bottles,Rory.
No killing him, Brent. [Jocelyn gave him the you-better-not-hurt-anyone look. She thought the guy had been stupid but not enough to end up dead]
I'm not going to kill him, darling. I just want to have a conversation with him. Besides I can't go around killing people in public. That would set a bad example.
Why not, gives me something to do.
Perfect. While we're walking, why don't you tell me more about what happened and about the man? What did he look like again?
He went back towards the coffee shop you go to all the time
And suddenly i'm in the mood for coffee. Care to join me?
Some guy decided it was the greatest idea to pull a woman’s hair while he walked past.
The audacity of some people. Did you see where the man went?
Wow, what a beautiful day.
Wait, how many bottles are we talking about here?
That depends on how long you stay outside.
Did he just —
Did he just?
Wow, what a beautiful day.
… You wha—
Wow, you know what? I suddenly really wanna be outside! Lead the way, Brentratron!
What was that? I don't think I heard you the first time.
I make sure I smile in his presence quite a bit. Watching him squirm is amusing, you should watch his reaction next time. Did you see what he got me for xmas? So there’s an art to it? Duly noted. Between Joce, Rory and I? We both know Joce, if she agreed to participate, would win that one, hands down. Maybe it’s the old age getting to you.
That sounds very tempting and amusing. I think I shall. Come get me or give me a sign before you smile at him so I can see his reaction. I can't say I did. What was it? There's an art to everything, Luciano. And just like with any other type of art, you have to practice to get better at it. That is most likely true if she's in the mood to play along. She does have an unfair advantage. Woman tend to come off less creepier than men do. Societies fault, really. Old age? Are you insinuating that i'm going senile?
Demon Damon || Brent&Damon
Damon was lost in watching the others, not even Brent’s hand on his shoulder stole his focus away. He didn’t see why it would be such a big deal. What if they were bad? It wasn’t likely. But to him, all people no matter how innocent looking, had potential to be harmful. Never judge a book by it’s cover, right? Upon hearing his name, Damon pulled his gaze from the humans and looked up at Brent. He was torn. Brent had been nothing but loyal, the father he never had but always wanted. Kind, generous, always there when Damon needed someone to fall back on. But at the same time, he didn’t understand why his alpha opposed this so much. He respected the man and wanted to follow the rules set for him but the alternative was so tempting. One, that was all he wanted. He felt Brent would understand. One time.
But it wouldn’t be once, it would always be just one more time. One after another. Attempting an escape, Damon ducked down to try and get away from the older vampire. Though it wasn’t realistic and he was merely giving into thirst, Damon truly believed one little bite would do it. He’d be able to settle back down to blood bags and animals… so he thought. Damon didn’t have any intention on killing the scrawny young adult, but it would happen regardless if he managed to get his hands on him. As fast as he was, he knew Brent was faster but bolted anyway. One little bite and the stranger could go back to his mindless typing. Damon just wanted to sink his teeth into one, there were plenty more to spare.
It happened rather quickly, not giving Brent much time to think. One second Damon was standing next to him the next he was bolting towards his unsuspecting victim. With a huff Brent bolted after him, grabbing Damon before he could sink his fangs into the other man. Brent picked up the younger vampire by the waist and flung him over his shoulder, smiling tensely at the people who were now looking over with puzzled expressions. He waved them off, trying to make it seem like his son was just running around and he was just being a normal father.
Adjusting Damon on his shoulder, Brent walked back over to the table and left more than enough money to pay for his coffee and the water before he started to walk down the sidewalk. As he walked, Brent didn't say a word to Damon. He was too busy trying to think about the best way to approach things now. It was obvious that gently urging Damon to talk wasn't going to work this time.
Reaching the edge of the woods, he stopped walking but made no move to put Damon down. "You know we don't feed in broad daylight. Especially not with so many people around." Brent was unable to hide the disappointment in his tone nor could he hold back a short sigh. What could have been running through his mind and what happened while he was gone? That was all Brent wanted to know right now. All he cared about knowing. "I won't put you down until you at least give me some sort of explanation, William."
Wow, what a beautiful day.
Maybe he wants to take another walk? I mean, he could use the sunlight. Have you seen how pale and creepy he looks lately? Oh Brent, I don’t know where you’re getting that idiotic idea… Let’s discuss it over tea later, yes?
....And here I was going to tell you that i'd buy more lotion since you'd be outside more. I guess I'll just go back inside and lock the door behind me then.
I am not trying that, Brent. I’ll come off as creepy and a predator. My smile makes Rory crawl under the bed, what would a girl do in response to that? Yeah…I don’t…ever really compliment people…I’ve had enough slaps for trying to do that. A fun idea because you’d win, which is not fair, by the way. We can play poker and then we’ll see who wins. Answer = me. That’s true, and with this coven, it’s a frequent thought.
Very well, if you say so. Though I do feel the need to add that Rory does have a habit of exaggerating things. Slapped? It's all about how you deliver the compliment and the environment around you. If you're at a bar and start off with a compliment the chance of you getting slapped if very high. Well then how about I just judge and not participate? It would be fair then. Ah, yes how could I forget your poker skills?
Demon Damon || Brent&Damon
The longer they remained at the table, the harder the presence of people was to ignore. He didn’t want to explain, Damon hadn’t talked about anything that had happened over the passed year. The very idea made him feel ill in ways he couldn’t explain. While he’d always been quiet, it wasn’t often he blatantly ignored Brent. He could have offered something, at least a no, but he remained silent. That was, until he spoke of the people. Damon shook his head, standing when Catherine approached once more. Keeping his hands on the table, he thought of how satisfying it would be to stop holding himself back. In that brief moment, he want nothing more than to sink his teeth into her wrist.
Consuming anything but blood and the occasional taco had always been an issue with Damon. He refused every gesture and every offer. This particular offer of water was met with the same reject as Damon shook his head a bit. He wasn’t after water. The waitress wasn’t the only one who looked so appealing. Just two tables over sat a scrawny man who wouldn’t see it coming being so preoccupied by his computer. Before, he would remind himself just exactly what he was looking at. Maybe a student, working on finishing an assignment or a writer trying to meet a different sort of deadline. But now, all he saw was someone disposable. The same could be said for the mother and daughter duo not much farther from the him. Damon didn’t so much as look at Brent during his people watching, which was slowly starting to turn into people hunting.
When Damon didn't answer right away, Brent frowned. He contemplated rephrasing the statement into a command instead of a question, but his thoughts were cut short when Damon stood. His eyes followed the younger vampires gaze and the frown on is face deepened. It didn't take a genius to figure out what could have been running through the boy's mind. He looked less like a young boy observing people and more like a hunter searching for it's prey. It didn't fit him, at least not in Brent's opinion. The look of a killer was not one that he wanted Damon to have. He had saved the boy that one night so many years ago to give him another chance at life, not for him to stain his hands with the blood of innocents.
Slowly, Brent rose from his seat and moved closer to Damon. Placing his hand on Damon's shoulder, Brent tried to bring his attention away from the humans and back to him. "William." His voice was stern now. The time for relaxing and being gentle was over. He wouldn't let Damon harm any of these people, not just for the sake of keeping their secret but for the sake of Damon's humanity. Brent had no idea what his son had been up to, but he knew it couldn't have been anything good. Not with the way he was acting now.
"William, we're leaving. Now." He didn't remove his hand nor did he make any other moves. He just stood there staring down at Damon until he got a sign that the boy understood his words and would comply with them.
Wow, what a beautiful day.
Actually, you know who said he would really want to take a walk? Luciano. Go fetch him and have a jolly good time together!
Really? Because we went on a walk the other day. I think he's had his fair share of fresh air. It's sounds like you don't want to be in my presence. That hurts, Rory.
Wow, what a beautiful day.
…This goes against my rights.
What rights? I'm helping you get some fresh air. I don't see anything wrong with that.
That definitely works. How well I do? That I can answer for you right now: not well at all. I may learn a lot from you, but that’s not it. Rory would succeed in making them run, but only because he scares them and Jocelyn would glare them into another nation. I’m glad that you think that way of me, sometimes I question my sanity.
We won't know until you try. Come on now. It's not that difficult. You just smile and compliment them. Compliments are fairly easy, you just stick to the truth and point out good things about a person. People nowadays rarely hear that. They're too focused on the negatives. You're right. I'd definitely win that game if the rest of you played as well. Still it seems like a fun idea. Don't we all question our sanity at one point or another?
Wow, what a beautiful day.
… Now let’s go back inside!
Oh no you don't. Back outside you go.
