GRE in less than 48 hours. Time to stop studying and turn to something I actually care about. #Community #GrassrootsInitiatives #SustainableCities
Happy Thankgiving!! My pants are tight.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! (at City of Ridgecrest)
That proud moment when you hold up your completed 20 pg creative works portfolio. I hope my grad schools are as excited about this as I am.
Made homemade CrunchWrap Supremes tonight. (Turns out they're better)
White-tailed deer. I'm trying to draw quicker and improve my textures. I like this turned out for now. I might need to touch up later, but I'm happy with the sketch for now.
Golden Eagle.
The American Paddlefish Ancestral paddlefish date back to 300 million years ago. The American paddlefish has poorly developed eyes, so in order to forage it uses the many electro-receptors on its rostrum/bill and body to detect swarms of zooplankton that it filter feeds on. Due to changes in hydrology such as damming and stream narrowing, the paddlefish lost its ability to travel and spawn. Once found in many parts of Virginia, paddlefish have not been able to sustain their populations due to overfishing, pollution, and the previously mentioned hydrology changes. The American Paddlefish is a threatened species and declining in numbers.
This very special #mcm is brought to you by Nicholas Batt. Today is his birthday. He's been a phenomenal friend for well over a year now. Friendships like these are hard to come by and deeply cherished. He teaches me every day, whether it's a new animal fact or something I never realized about myself. He challenges me and encourages me to chase my dreams. He's a Pokemon Master and one hell of a trails worker. He brings me more laughes and smiles than I can remember in quite some time. Happy Birthday, my other half. You definitely deserve all sorts of happiness on this day.
For the last 5 years, you've been such an inspiration to me. Your faith, your strength, your wisdom, & happiness have put me back on my feet time and time again. Late night phone calls from California to Nashville and only seeing each other 5 days out of the last year and a half, things haven't been easy, but our friendship still thrives. Today my Jessica Powell turns 24-years-old. This world has been blessed with this darling soul and we're all very fortunate to have her. Happy 24th Birthday, my dearest Jessica! I hope it's filled with smiles and a late night trip to DQ in your pajamas.
The family vacation is going well.

Perhaps the part I will miss most when my tree cutting job ends next week, is analyzing the trees after they have fallen. All the subtleties of the bark and branches become known. This tree died long ago but beetle larva feasted on its insides long after. Nature thrives in cycles of life and death.
