This would normally be when I would make some sort of post-race update on racing and my life, but life had other plans this year. I was feeling prepared going into Fat Dog 120 this year, then July came around with a never ending slew of health issues and injuries. I focused on getting my body healthy and ready come the beginning of august, but in the end, my body had the last say when I was diagnosed with Lyme disease 3 days before the race start. Despite starting up on antibiotics, my body was simply not ready to go through 120 miles. When half my face went numb the day before it was the final straw in the inevitable decision not to start. I was obviously devastated and the last week has been really hard. I’m still over here focusing on my health and have learned to let go of the need to prove my abilities in a race (at least for now). In the meantime I’m learning to be grateful to be on the mend and to have answers to a lot of my crazy symptoms and feelings the last month. I’ll be fully back eventually, just not sure yet, and that’s ok to live in that uncertainty for a bit. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChOAHp3reju/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
