Well, I think it’s safe to say we can’t trust the Ministry. We might know who’s on our side, but we can’t know for sure who’s not. So, yeah, if we were to do something, it would have to be without that sort of support. 

Now suppose we take people to safe houses, that entails finding safe places for them to stay, and sorting out a way to take them there. I have a feeling that smuggling people across the country without raising any eyebrows has got to be tricky, but the real trick has got to be keeping them safe. Would they just go on about their lives? Or would they have to quit their jobs, change their routines entirely? I mean… where do we draw the line here?

You know what? It’s been awhile... since I’ve been this scared. I swore to myself a couple of decades ago that I’d never let anyone intimidate me ever again. And after what happened with Leach, I knew... they wouldn’t stop there. It took sometime but... here we are. Shit. That’s exactly what they want, isn’t it? Make us frightned, rule by fear...

Maybe we can find some people with enough money who are willing to help or maybe... we can raise some. I don’t know. Doing nothing is killing me, mate... And it might actually kill us in the long run.

Shit, man, I don’t know, ok? If I had an easy answer I’d have done something already. I just... my hands are tied. I never thought things would go that south... I-- I guess I’m just scared.

What can we do about it? I mean, can M.A.N.D.R.A.K.E. do something about it? Take people somewhere safe? If there’s even such a thing right now. I just... I’m not sure we can trust the law enforcement with that one. Pretty sure they have insiders. They must have.

Considering they were able to pull this off somehow, I wouldn’t rule anything out just yet. Truth is, we are currently in the dark. I think it is natural to give in to a tad bit of fear, but it cannot control us, Brian. I’m afraid this cannot be undone, so now all there is left is protecting ourselves the best we can.

Yeah, I suppose that’s possible. I have some reasons to believe the Malfoys might be involved... Aren’t they always? I remember quite vividly the whole thing with Leach... Still can’t believe Abraxas got away with that shit.

Oh no… It couldn’t, could it? As far as I know, our files ought to be safe, but Merlin knows what we might be up against here and what resources they might have. The thing is, if our files were not compromised, I believe the Ministry would still hold part of the information we have on them, wouldn’t it? Would it be possible for the leak to be someone here instead? Good God. I guess we will just have to soldier on, won’t we? 

You mean people in the Ministry? I’m sure we have lots of You-know-who sympathizers around here. Some of them don’t even bother to hide their thoughts. But I’m more worried about the ones that do.

Yeah, that makes sense. They could just use the same tools we did back then. Perhaps they are intercepting owls as well? It could explain a thing or two. Benjy, listen... they know things about me... there’s no way in hell someone could know. Maybe they enlisted some legilimens as well? Sorry, I’m getting paranoid here.
