What the future holds...
It’s a on going journey. I still don’t know what I want out of life, as well as what life wants out of me.

Respect Your Elders
Honestly,
We learn about historical events/migrations/meet people who gone through them; and what do we learn? That the human soul is capable of turning coals into diamonds. How many of our families immigrated here due to war, freedom, opportunity, chance at better life (CHANCE***)? Look at what that may entail for a second, just a second. Leaving your life behind because this country may be better than corrupt politics and land mines. Doing laborious work hours on end and still struggling to make ends meet. Or just because there was a rumor that in this other place the sidewalks were paved with gold and the land was of milk and honey.
I feel like in todays age, we don't acknowledge the sacrifices and trials the elders of today has face. That old guy on the bus, or that is a cook in that restaurant might've been a soldier for his native land or took the risk of packing his life and family to sail on a dangerous route to an alien land. Like What the FUCK. If we were to go to war today and (insert any country) was the shit, would you honestly survive? Learn a new language, adapt to a new culture, face racism and discrimination, etc, etc, etc.
We face some of that all the time but on a smaller scale. But you never really know a person's story; anyone's story. That is until you talk, learn, and interact with them. There's knowledge there. Access it before it's gone, before it's too late. Respect Your Elder's, They've been through some shit.
I'm buzzed.
No matter what you say or what you do When I’m alone, I’d rather be with you
California Memoir: Thursday
Well I guess it really started Wednesday night, Brother dropped me off at Janessa's house where the group met up to depart early tomorrow morning.
ChilledxRoughDraftxSleep
Awake at 4:30 for the 6am flight.
Being on a plane get's me excited like no other. To think, once off this giant metal bird I'll be in a completely different land. Different culture, different weather, different scenery. Beautiful. However I was tired from lack of sleep mixed with nice long work day prior so I knocked out. Oakland transfer...then we off to LA! And I also knocked out for that flight. Ya boy get's tired.
Welcome to the Land of Lost Angels.
The squad went to get the luggage and off to the rental car office we went. A fucking Dodge Avenger. We were expecting a SUV Jeep Patriot but got this wanna be Corolla; this wasn't going to work. After a brief talk the company told us a car of our selected size would be available 4 hours later. So we got time to kill.
First stop!
We went to go get Baljot, who was hanging out with his Californian family the last few days. And it was time for the first meal of our trip. Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. First time for all of us I believe and gotdamn was their chicken good. Smothered in gravy yet still crispy, a paradox. I'd recommend everyone try it if given the opportunity.
Side note: Yung Berg was there. Side side note: Who?
On the way back Me and Baljolteon stopped by a convenience store to get this trip started off right. I forgot you can buy alcohol nearly anywhere in CA, and it's cheaper. Two bottles of wine (gross) and one pint of my beloved Jameson (not gross). So we kill time and drove around till the car was ready around 4. Just hit random mall strips and cruised around some neighborhoods. So interesting how you can be in the most hood area with crack heads at the corner then 2 minutes later be around the nicest houses ever made. Got the car, packed it to the brim and off to Indio.
I killed the Jameson and got really plastered on the way to Indio. Made traffic a lot more bearable, just hope I wasn't annoying the rest of the group! Well x amount of time passes by and we make it to the camp grounds. It's dark and we have to set up two tents. Baljot got a flashlight from our neighbors from Texas to help pierce the night. I was still drunk so I was useless. All I remember is Louis going beast mode putting the tent's up. Like literally I didn't realize what happened and then two tent's appeared out of thin air. I'm still tripping about how crazy that was. We loaded the inside of our home for the next three days and I knocked out.
Overall it was a fun day and the excitement just keeps building. Tomorrow would be the First day of Coachella. Make em say UUUHHHHH.
The Hotel California
such a lovely place...such a lovely face.
Review coming soon. Letting the experience marinate, that way it can escape my short term memory and details will be hazy.
Goal: Write more.

Weekend Memoir
This past weekend was "one for the books" as they say. Time is a interesting thing and life with it Before you know it, something that may be "normal", routine, for granted, etc. can become rare artifact. In 2008-2011 my crew repped, traveled, and just grew/matured together. Since then life has caught up with us. Work, life, school, and love took priority as they should.
Sweet 16 though was a nostalgic kick in the balls we needed. It was a last minute decision to get together and just say fuck it we haven't done this in a minute. Yeah we were missing a few of us but at the same time it was the first time since the majority of us had come together just to dance and have fun. Winning wasn't my main objective but letting the Northwest know that we were still alive and innovating was the mission.
New Birth (Portland), Airflow (Bellevue), and Flexible Flave (Sacramento) all helped us remember what it was like to battle together. The rush, the energy, the cockiness, and the shear love of dance is what keeps me motivated.
It felt good to dance with family I rarely see anymore. We all have our struggles and differences but by the end of the day the LOVE is unconditional. That's what crew is. I hope we can only grow from here and continue to rep the ShoryuKENT name.
Okay I'm going to finish this 40 and this episode of Bates Motel.
