Small Bump
Chase smiled and paid attention to the road, trying not to crash on the way to the hospital. They finally arrived safely and Chase grabbed the bags again, helping his very pregnant wife inside to get checked in. He kissed the top of her head happily, waiting for the nurse to return with the wheelchair for her. However, he froze and stared at her with a worried look on his face when she grabbed him. It was when she started to shake that he realized what was happening. She was having a seizure. That wasn’t normal for a pregnancy. “I need some help!” He shouted, kneeling down carefully, holding her so that she didn’t fall. The nurse came running, the wheelchair forgotten. A few other doctors came running up with a gurney, ready to go. She was lifted up and was being rushed to the ER. He was told by a nurse to wait outside.
That of course set Chase off. He didn’t want to wait outside, he wanted to be with his wife. He was vaguely aware of the people who recognized him, and started to record the altercation that would probably go viral. He was yelling at the nurse, wanting to go inside. It took a security guard to escort him back to the waiting room for him to stop struggling. Chase couldn’t even focus on the fact that a few people got his behavior on film. Brianne was the only thing on his mind. He paced back and forth, hoping to God that the baby would be okay, and that Brianne would be okay. He wasn’t sure what he would do if he lost either of them.
The doctors worked quickly, rushing Brianne to the OR trying to figure out what had caused the seizure. The young girl had since stopped convulsing but did not regain consciousness. Immediately hooking her up to all sorts of monitors they realized that from the seizure the baby was in distress, and they worked quickly to get the tiny girl out of her, safely and carefully not to harm either the baby or the young mother. After a few minutes and cutting the brunette opne, they’d retrieved the baby and took her crying to run tests and make sure that she was fine and not damaged by her mother’s seizure. As the doctors moved to close Brianne up, the woman’s bp dropping back down to an almost normal rate before she started to seize again, her bp dropping dangerously low as she did so, the doctors working hard to stop the bleeding from where they were trying to close her up. Within a mere matter of seconds her blood pressure had dropped too low, her heart going into cardiac arrest, the doctors working as quickly as they could to stabilize her and bring her back, so she could be a mother to the baby.
