Pretty Little Liars Rewatch // 1x06 There’s No Place Like Homecoming
favorite outfits: aria montgomery (season 5, part 1)
“You think he’s spiraling?” Bentley asked, concerned for his friend. “I’ve gotta at the very least, reach out to him. Let him know I’m back, and even if I don’t help him with things there, we can just hang out, or whatever, play some basketball” Ben smiled. “Pizza is on the way”
Briar couldn’t help but freeze at Bentley’s question. It wasn’t that she’s been ignoring her older brother or anything like that. She just thought that maybe he was going through something that was petty or just a guy thing. But the actual thought of Davis spiraling honestly now that she thought about it, scared her. She never wanted her brothers to be in trouble. She always wanted them goofy and happy but scared or endangered? Briar felt chills down her spine. “Honestly...I don’t know.. Davis and I don’t get along like we use to but we still talk. It’s just I barely see him.. Do you think he could be you know.. spiraling?” She asked. Briar has never thought this before. Briar smiles at Bentley’s reassurance. “Well you could always text him and let him know yourself. Sometimes Davis doesn’t come home for days anyway, so at least if you text him, he’ll know right away.He never leaves home without it.”
Espresso machine, 1. Lydia, 0. I feel like I just became coffee’s bitch.
“Please we all know the coffee still won. You are drinking it, are you not?” Briar teases Lydia.
Briar had been there for everything, through the chaos of high school, onto the countless of parties, Tamina always mixing pot with her drinking, Bentley and Talon. She had seen it all and yet she still stood by Tam’s side. Tamina wasn’t always the nicest person, and sometimes she was a bitch just to be a bitch but through it all Briar had been there, it shocked the brunette daily, especially when sometimes the worst things Tamina came up with were done to Briar as well. She had a habit of destroying everything in her path. “I did. I didn’t exactly say it was a mistake… those two don’t belong together, please tell me even you realize that, but I apologized!” At the mention of forgiveness Tamina’s eyes sparkled. “You’re right. Mason will come around, he always does.” Pleasant? No one yelled at the other, and Bentley sure could have said far worse things to Tamina so she counted it as a happy medium. “He doesn’t want to see me right now… or talk to me but I’m working on it.”
Briar smiles at her friend, “That’s the possible attitude.” She chuckles. “Plus you and Mase are really close. He can’t not forgive you at some point. just show your sorry and keep letting him know that you are there and care. Mason won’t be able to hlep but think you really mean your sorry.” Crossing her arms, she listens to her best friend about the encounter. She couldn’t help but sigh a little. “Did you cry?” She asked. Even though Tamina has done a lot of horrible things to people she cares about, including herself Briar had always stuck by her. Yes, it hurt Briar knowing that Tamina had a thing with a guy she liked for the longest time but Tamina was human no matter what people say and she did know Tam cared deeply about Bentley. “He can’t stay mad at you forever. You two can survive this, I know it.”
I want you to know
In Savannah’s mind, nothing was really changing. She felt secure in her friend group, with Kara especially after the near fall-out they’d had, and she didn’t ever allow herself to entertain the thought that there was any way they could ever truly fall out of the habits that were one another. She had latched on, dug like a parasite into their skin, and no amount of distance set between her and one of her girls was going to change that. “Maybe,” she stated simply, in that same smug, teasing manner she so loved, “but I want to know what the other girls have in mind first.” Tilting her head slightly as she glanced downward at the smaller girl, allowing her control of the conversation yet again, she furrowed her brows slightly. “One passed out and no one else wanted to model? Sounds like a shitty backstage experience–but it’s a good thing your friend put that idea in your head. You really made the best of that situation, B.” Straightening herself out a moment later, Savannah simply shrugged at Briar’s next question, her movements laced with a sense of apathy and general discord. “Well, I guess it’s not bad. I mean, your mom is amazing and I can see how that’d get in the way of you…being your own person, Briar, but at the same time…wouldn’t you much rather utilize her fame as a platform to at least get yourself known before you start trying to deviate from her name?”
“Yeah, well apparently these were models that always did these kind of shows.” Briar shrugs her shoulders. “I mean like everyone knew each other and I just figured it was a common thing with this model.” Briar listens intently to Savannah. She knew she had the right idea and Briar has thought about it but also at the same time, she knows that some people just might take advantage of her which has happened in the best and it just made Briar want to make it on her own terms no help or nothing. But sometimes you do need help and Briar realized that, it was just something she guessed was hard to swallow. “Yeah...but it’s hard to trust people you have little experience with.”
“I do, and yes, you make me feel smarter” He smiled. “Well, he might want to prove something ya know? Maybe.. To anybody who ever doubted, I know I would. Thanks, and I’m here for you too, for what ever that’s worth”
Briar makes a face but than smiles. Bentley was a good guy. She knew that because she’s seen him with Nevaeh, with Talon and even with Tamina. They were pretty close of all of them until one incident. “I’m glad I make you feel that way.” She laughs, shaking her head. “Maybe but I don’t know sometimes. I worry about him a lot...my mom keeps saying that he’s spiraling and I can sort of see it but than I can’t cause like he is always making jokes or something.” Briar nods and smiles, “Your welcome and thanks to you as well.” Briar looks around a bit, “So how about that pizza?”
I don’t have to tell you anything.
I want you to know
It was a relief to see her best friend after so long especially since they had slowly been building their friendship back again. She was however, glad that her friend got that opportunity in the first place. “Yeah?” She raised a brow. “What was it like? Was it what you expected?”
Briar nods, “Yeah of course I did. But I got you more things than your family but none the less.” She chuckles, “ I got you all these awesome treats from there as well as a cook book for these deserts if you ever want to make them here.” She says. “As for your parents, I got them t-shirts and Logan well I got him a key chain, your brother is seriously the worst person to shop for a gift.” She says chuckling. “It was honestly really mesmerizing and beautiful. I couldn’t believe a place like this existed. I couldn’t help but gawk at every place I looked. I must of looked like a crazy tourist to be honest. And the people were so nice and helpful.”
