Hi there! I'm Brie, a transfem artist and writer living in Aotearoa, and I like drawing anything related to my TTRPG characters, trans people, sci-fi, and fantasy stuff <3

my old online name was "BenjiBo", which i don't go by anymore, but, any art before the beginning of 2023 will have that as a signature as a heads up :)
The main tag I use for all my art is "#bri art", which should include only singular posts and none of the reblogs I use for bumping.
i use tags for posts with my ocs, but I'll keep all that info below the cut.
all my art now has tags for if a recurring character of mine pops up in case anyone wants to look through and find all the things ive done with em, so ive got a little directory here that ill use for keeping up with that

my original blorbo and first trans OC (if im not counting that one time i went feral over a headcanon with my elden ring character), she's gone through a bunch of name changes, which looked like Bridgette -> Brianne -> Maxine, so that's why my old art refers to her by a different name

I wrote a whole short story about her realizing she's trans that you can find somewhere on my profile or here (It was the first story I've ever managed to finish, and that shows I think, I can write a lot better now but it's still a cute little thing) her hair changes colors with her emotions because i think its a fun thing to draw

my tiefling ttrpg character, and, surprise! also trans. paired up with a friends OC, so there's a few quicker doodles i've done with them being gay. they're my high-femme OC who i put in all the outifts i'd like to wear, and one of my most favourite characters to draw. her tail emotes like a cats :)

I wrote a short piece of flash fiction based on a tumblr post that kind of made me feral, and some people I know encouraged me to make a cover for it and slap it on Scribblehub despite it's length.
So, I did! You can read that here if you'd like.
As for the cover, I slapped together something simple really quickly last night. Here's what that looks like:

it isn't a lot atm, but its enough that i wanted to post something so here!
ill keep further ramblings below a cut lol, but yes hi yes im figuring out how to draw again and im actually enjoying it for the first time in a while ^.=.^
but yeah lmao, i kind of hard fell out of love with my art style due to it being a Lot of Effort for what was ultimately... flat (at least to me), so i kind of didnt have the energy to continue doing it, especially when i couldnt get the results i wanted.
so! this is where im experimenting with now, kind of trying to hard mimic traditional without caring for keeping it "clean". that means for me keeping my sketches as my lines, and not using masks for my colors so they bleed through underneath, all that
but yes, that's all! should hopefully be able to find the time to draw a bit more often now that it doesnt quite feel like a soul-wrenching chore <3
i am working on multiple things simultaneously, so have this little design i finished up first :3
meet Erohkat! the devil mother (and one of three parents - it's complicated) of my Pathfinder tiefling character. i wanted to do a quick little concept design before she was slated to appear in the campaign!! it was practically my first time properly drawing snouts and fur, so it was a fun design challenge <3

the doodle- i couldn't get the image of her having two-tiered glasses out of my head so i drew it! trying my hardest to let myself be sloppy.
managed to break through the art block for my first drawing of 2024, my trans tiefling oc Belladonna in a pretty outfit. coincidentally, she was also my first drawing of 2023! they are one of the only things my brain lets me put to digital canvas, but i'm not fully complaining <3
it's always quite affirming to draw pretty trans women who have broad shoulders, narrow hips and sharp jawlines. as someone with those features, giving those to my ocs is always very fun!

was gonna do an additional little doodle of the gal she was kissing, but, alas, at the moment my art energy has all run dry. regardless! happy with this piece.

the dragonborn models from Baldur's Gate 3 have got my oc brain churning... this isn't my current player character (im currently playing a gold dragonborn bard which has been a blast), but the one im planning on playing in my next playthrough, a white dragonborn rogue!
never drawn scales or a snout before so this was an enjoyable challenge. im hoping that by becoming obsessed with my Tav's I'll be able to learn quickly :)

13. how long do you usually take on a piece
gosh, it really varies, im a slow poke when it comes to art even at the best of times. for a full illustration with a background and a character? 8-10 hours, typically, i'd think, though i typically stretch that out over 2-3 days. its the main reason i dont get much art done during study time, because i know id sink into focus mode and lose that much time lmao
17. what do you love getting compliments about
oh boy. this one is revealing lolol, but i think i like it the most when people find my characters hot tbh, a little bit narcissistic of me (on behalf of them) but its like warm soup for my soul. feels like my character designs are working as intended :)

2. im quite proud of my volumes tbh! i love making things feel 3 dimensional and when it clicks in my brain it's so satisfying to me
10. oh! this one is fun, i typically shift between 2-3, though my final sketch is basically lineart like... a very very rough sketch, barely circles and squares to get the forms down, then i refine the anatomy, then i basically add facial features and clothing on top!
