She’s a foster kid..bounced around foster homes until age 11 when she was finally adopted
Her adoptive parents are nice enough but she’s not extremely close to them...she suspects the wife pushed for her adoption because the couple was having marital problems, and thought a kid would fix them/bring them closer together
(her suspicions were correct)
anyway the couple ended up divorcing regardless and the court battle for custody was exhausting, ugly, and lasted forever
obviously does not know who her real parents are..she doesn’t like to talk about it though like honestly she avoids all talk of family as much as she can. In her head she’s like “I’m my own family”, so she very much feels that in the end she can only rely on herself. Especially since she’s heard the “friends come and go, family is all you have” rhetoric so many times, it’s kind of set in her mind that her own self is all she’s got.
basically this girl has no concept of what a deep, meaningful relationship is because she never grew up with anything like that..hence why she’s so flaky now and doesn’t really have any real loyalty to anyone
she’s the kind of girl who will suddenly drop you if she’s not feeling your vibe anymore and not think twice about it
that being said, she is extroverted and likes having friends but even though physically she likes being around people, she isolates herself mentally and emotionally and ends up feeling very alone most of the time..it doesn’t bother her but SOMETIMES she gets in her feelings about it (especially if she’s way too high and by herself)
ok more about the emotional isolation..all her friendships are very shallow, she keeps a lot to herself and it’s like you think you know her but the more you think about it, the more you realize you know zero about her
she’s all about that though, she likes that no one really knows her or knows what goes on in her life?? honestly she’s so weird like even just being back in Stone Harbor for all this time, she feels like everyone is way too involved in her life and her number one wish right now is to disappear completely, cut off everyone and reinvent herself in some far off country
she loves the idea of love but it doesn’t feel tangible for her, it’s more like a far off fairytale
very very artsy and fake deep..(I hc’d that she’s a philosophy major with an art history minor so..there u have it)..would 100% vote her most likely to honeymoon in a cheap motel for the aesthetic
