In celebration of @galaxywithoutend hitting 50 story posts, I crosspost to my baseline blog. That's right, I've done 50 chapters plus interludes in the story continuity of

GWE explores some side stories, some modest canon divergences, and anything else that came to mind when I started riffing on the canon story. Its purpose, to be quite honest, was to weave together my headcanons to make a cohesive whole. A story where you knew, while you looked at one main character, that the other seven were busy doing their own things at the same time.

There will likely be a next 50 chapters. The first 50 covered acts 1-3 for eight classes. I have extensive plans for KotFE/ET, and of course I have to get there in the first place. I like this project so much, I only hope it's somewhat readable.

I have long wished to find a good planet for the Sun. Every planet I knew from the base campaigns that showed a Sun was already better placed somewhere else. I chose Rakata Prime for its associations with generation, creation, and revealed truth, but Rakata Prime does not have a sun in its skybox. Or if it does it's a weird pale blue one that looks like a moon.

(Speaking of unhelpful skyboxes, I felt very clever about making Quesh, planet of subterfuge and concealment, the Moon.)

Anyway, if there's a newer planet that has a sun and might correspond to "Positivity, freedom, success, vitality, confidence, self-expression, good luck, enthusiasm, happiness, truth, and openness", let me know. I wouldn't mind re-issuing the series with a better card.

Hmm. Not counting MMORPGs, by hours played, I'd have to say Diablo II. For number of complete playthroughs, I'm still not tired of Dragon Age: Origins. So many fiddly decisions, so many mage builds.

In World of Warcraft, chests can spawn in random places on the map. Find a chest, open it up, you get a whole possible loot table of gear and resources.

Also in World of Warcraft, there used to be camps of half a dozen blood elves hanging out. Near a chest spawn point.

Also in World of Warcraft, I played a fire mage of more passion than skill.

So one day I saw a chest and thought, great! I'll kill all the blood elves and take it! Cue five minutes of increasingly desperate attempts to kill/getting roflstomped/sprinting to go kill the remaining elves before they respawned. This did take upwards of five minutes. Finally, finally, I got the sweet sweet chest.

And it had...

Six silver pieces and a piece of Alterac Swiss Cheese.

That was a [my level - 25] one-time-use food and not quite enough money to buy another.

And as a mage I can generate unlimited free food anyway.

I want that goddamn cheese. I want to know what I bled and died and died and died for. It had better be ecstasy.

A: Okay, the Knight should get a young and vulnerable padawan. B: He should get to sleep with her. A: Definitely, yeah. Now, the Consular’s going to need a young and vulnerable padawan. C: He should get to sleep with her. A: Absolutely. Moving along, the Inquisitor should get a young and vulnerable padawan. D: Sith don’t even have padawans. B: A trifling detail, he’ll just adopt one. And then he should get to sleep with her. A: Naturally. The Warrior should also get a young and vulnerable padawan. D: Maybe…maybe sometimes he could…not sleep with her? A: … B: … C: … A: …it’s…daring, I’ll give it that. B: Okay. but just this once. C: How about the fembot? Are we as a culture ready to make her screwable? A: Eh, trying to stay family-friendly here. Maybe not. But tell you what, we’ll make up for it by giving the Agent two screwable biological females. B: Brilliant! D: Say, could some of the aliens be female? A lady Jawa with a rocket launcher would be awesome. B: Would a male player get to shag her? D: …I hope not. B: Then I don’t see the point in making it female. Boy Jawa it is. Next!

It's a day late, but the Halloween dinosaur sticker set is finished and up on Redbubble!

I've got a candy corn stegosaurus, a vampire raptor and a ghost raptor, a parasaurolophus witch, a reanimated dead triceratops, and a ceratopsian with markings that look like a jack-o-lantern. It's not wearing makeup, it just looks like that, like those fancy breeds of pet snakes. The ankylosaurus just looks like a regular one, but it's actually a were-ankylosaurus on a night with a full moon, and is a different kind of dinosaur the rest of the time. The skeleton is a quetzalcoatlus skeleton, because it was a pterosaur the size of a small airplane, which makes it the most terrifying skeleton.

I also plan to draw backgrounds for some of them and add them as individual prints, but I'm not sure when that'll be finished.

traless also appears (and indeed first appeared) in one of the official novels, iirc. syo can die even on ls runs if you mess up the conversations somehow (i never got the option to save him on sha, despite her generally being ls). i don’t think either he or braga rejoins the council, though, as they both enter schroedinger’s mortuary.

gnost-dural doesn’t show up in vanilla. useless tidbit: he was involved in the sw section of the cancelled original expansion plans (he kidnaps the emperor’s hand, and the sw is sent to track him down and retrieve them).

The only other one that I remember is Shol Bestros, the Miraluka who gives you the quest for the Eternity Vault. Syo & Tol can most certainly be counted as dismissed (that is if they survive their respective stories)

Operation: Alexandria, my crazy shower thought about indexing my online fiction.

So far I have 2,500 story posts indexed from previous files. Next up is about 120 stories from AO3. Then it gets deeper. Darker. The past seven years of Tumblr posts. Three side blogs. Two Reddit accounts’ posts.

Operation: Alexandria has already succeeded in patching together the old indices. Now if only I had something more recent than 2016…

I got into a stretch of stories that were already indexed, so I’ve shifted to Copy Link -> Ctrl+F -> Ctrl+V -> Enter. The difference between http and https physically hurts.

Anyway, middle of 2016. In terms of this entire Tumblr blog’s post count, 100 ten-packs down, 482 to go. Frankly I’m astounded I’ve stuck with it this long.

Frankly, this would be a smart time to write a bot to scrape the information for me. But my notation is so erratic I think programming it to recognize posts would take more time than just doing it myself.

What’s really striking me is how unenthused I am for it. All of it. I don’t think I’m witty and I don’t think it’s worthwhile. I’ll love it again, and then the index will be useful. In the meantime it’s self-soothing busywork.

3318. 40% of the way through serialephemera, which is by far the biggest factor in this (1594 story&WIP posts and I’m in early 2018). I hate myself. I hate my characters. I hate SWTOR, Dragon Age, Pillars of Eternity, Planescape: Torment, Draconis, Ettael, Tony, Matthew, Ash...I hate the English language. I hate planet Earth.

The exercise remains oddly soothing in small amounts. It’s better than writing more shit.

I’ve failed my accountability post on day 1 and I’m resigned to that.
