“I’m meant to be an undead bride.” There’s no real reason for her hair to be up so elaborately.
“Your hair looks amazing. And thank you for dressing up, I really appreciate it.”

“Really. You know what, I think you need to start putting yourself first.” Lily suggested. “I know it’s hard, but people are doing nothing to help you, so maybe just… Get rid of them. You’re a star, Remus Lupin.” She bumped his shoulder gently.
“Maybe I’ll start putting me first when everyone else stops putting me second.” he said, staring resolutely at the floor. He hated feeling cross with his friends. They had done so much for him, more than they could ever understand. He didn’t have any right to feel ungrateful.
Lily sighed gently, feeling angry with herself that she couldn’t help Remus more. “Well, you’re first in my book. You’re the only person who I can actually stand hanging out with every day of the week.” She said, managing a small smile at him.
“Shite. Thank god for Mundungus Fletcher am I right everyone? Anyone?”
“I don’t need to confiscate something else do I, Benjy? Somebody spiked the punch, can you just have some of that instead and try to have a good time without whatever that is?”
brilliant-evans:
Lily sighed and nodded. “You should try to not worry about what other people are saying and doing.” She said softly, looking at her hands. “I mean, you should just look after yourself.”
Remus snorted, but the sound didn’t come out amused. “Yeah, sure, that’ll help things.”
"Really. You know what, I think you need to start putting yourself first." Lily suggested. "I know it's hard, but people are doing nothing to help you, so maybe just... Get rid of them. You're a star, Remus Lupin." She bumped his shoulder gently.
‘’Can you really not tell what I’m dressed as? Does the sheet not give it away? Awoo~ and all that?’’
“Come on, I know you can do better than that.”
“What are you talking about of course I’m dressed up. I’m pretending to be someone who’s enjoying this shit party.”
“Hey, I think the party turned out very well. I mean, everybody looks great, don’t you think?”

“I had better things to do than come to this sorry excuse for a party, but then I decided it wouldn’t be fair to anyone if I hid away while looking this hot.”
“Funny, I don’t remember making the theme ‘dress like a slut’.”

‘’Lots of handholding. And there are a lot of stars to gaze at so if all else fails, there will be a lovely opportunity to stare awkwardly in silence at the stars before you make your excuse to the bathroom and run back home.’’ Joshua winked at the girl, taking the seat besides her as Nigel huffed and grunted before beginning on her hair.
Joshua grabbed a Witch Weekly and flicked through it rather uninterested, his feet crossed at the ankles. He was desperately hoping that although this was all great and exciting, it didn’t end with him being murdered through some hilarious prank pulled by two certain boys.
‘’So Lily,’’ he started, still engrossed in the magazine. ‘’Am I going to have to hide from an angry mob of Jily fangirls after today or am I safe enough to show my face to the outside world?’’
Lily managed a laugh, flushing deeply and thinking about just how right Josh was. Although she played it off as if it was nothing, Lily was slightly worried that she would be uncomfortable on their little date. The only other person she’d dated was James and he was so funny and cheeky and familiar, not that Josh wasn’t those things, Lily was just being a worry wart. “Do you think so little of me that I’d actually bail out on you?” She teased with a slight grin, her eyes watching Nigel in the mirror rather than focusing on the boy sitting next to her.
She had to look away from Nigel at Josh’s use of the unfamiliar word. “Jily? What’re you talking about? Fangirls? I didn’t know James and I—I’m guessing that’s what Jily is— ever had fangirls?” She said, surprised at this new information. James and Lily hadn’t exactly been a popular couple by any means, in fact Lily had assumed their friends were relived when they broke up again. The fact that they had fans was just ridiculous. “Of course you can show your face to the outside world, otherwise they’d miss it, and nobody should be deprived of such a beautiful thing.”
brilliant-evans:
Lily managed a polite wave to Nigel, taking in his precise choice of clothing, before letting Josh push her to the seat closest to them, sitting down in it with a comfortable thump before looking up at him and avoiding her reflection in the mirror on the wall in front of her. “I just hope he’s a good hairdresser, I don’t care if he’s grumpy.” She replied, rubbing a hand through her choppy hair and then sighing.
After finishing off another client, Nigel made his way over to Josh and Lily, who was nervously jiggling her leg as her eyes scanned over a few copies of Witch Weekly which were sitting on the bench in front of her. “So, tonight,” She peeled her eyes away from a headline which featured Styliana Caldrula and her Top Ten Tips to Getting Fashionably Funky Nails, “What’s on the agenda? I think maybe lots of handholding and stargazing?” Again, Lily surprised herself with how extremely forward she was being towards Josh. It was never ever like this with James until they became comfortable with one another, so for Lily to be so open and willing with somebody who she was on a first date with—if she could even call it that—well, it was very unusual.

With Halloween upon the castle, the SRC has decided that a dress up party is the perfect way to round off the holiday. Everybody from second year and above is encouraged to attend and everybody must dress in costume. The party will run from 8:30PM to midnight and will take place in the Great Hall, as stated on the invitation. There will also be prizes awarded for the best costume in each year, so dress to impress!
This event will take place from the 20th of October to the 31st of October (real time), and any form of writing is welcome—this includes gif chats, paras, self paras, and just about anything else! Your character does not have to attend the event if they don’t want to, but obviously it would be a chance for everybody to interact. I would also appreciate people making their characters interact with ones that they wouldn’t normally interact with, just to form some new (and maybe unexpected) friendships.
I hope you all have fun making this event your own!
Everybody remember to come to the ball tonight, it's going to be a treat. Make sure and dress up so you're in the running for the great prizes the SRC has to offer!
‘’The amount of testerone in the air is awful. I’m going to either have to kill something or shag something to get rid of this.’’
"I don't think killing something seems very rational... Shagging seems like the more... Ah... Logical choice here." Lily immediately regretted her choice of words, flushing slightly but trying to play it off. "Why are you feeling so wound up?"
brilliant-evans:
Lily took a deep breath and sat down next to Remus, just far enough away so that their arms weren’t touching; she didn’t want to invade any personal space. “How much a part of it is he? Is there anything I can do to help?”
Remus closed his eyes, resting his head on his knees. “A third, maybe less. I just- I’m tired of watching people throw away perfectly good things.”
Lily sighed and nodded. "You should try to not worry about what other people are saying and doing." She said softly, looking at her hands. "I mean, you should just look after yourself."

“I’m not going to lie and say he’s not part of it.” Honestly, so much of his life was tangled around his mess of feelings for Benjy he’d given up trying to separate them. But for once Benjy was just the tip of the iceberg.

“What’s not fucking wrong?” Remus muttered, picking at his sweater.
Lily chewed her lip briefly. “Is... Is it Benjy again?” She asked tentatively, knowing that it was a sensitive topic.

“I don’t, I don’t really want to touched, right now.”
Lily closed her arms, raising an eyebrow at Remus. "What's really wrong?"

“But like… I can have this can’t I? ‘M an adult.”
“I know you’re an adult, but it doesn’t mean you can during the day on school grounds.” Lily frowned a little, taking the flask.
