supernatural IS phenomenology it’s controversy studies it’s exquisite natural research design. you try to come up with the most robust definitions of consensus canon but everything keeps cracking the glass. usually translations don’t cause issue; what about when one’s allowed to change a scene entirely? fanfiction holds no weight but what about when original actors are involved? which ones? what about writers? are filmed deleted scenes closer to ‘counting’ than unfilmed ones? what about how you can define fanfiction as being not as erudite or worthwhile due to its existence as second-order to ‘original’ fiction, except by not even a tough argument supernatural could have been thrown on ao3 as an On The Road horror-fantasy AU with the names barely even scrubbed off. perspective and weights and rankings and shades also when you have a research degree everything looks like data someone knock me out
