Brite Lines at Crocodile: The Return of College Rock

“Upon immediately hearing When We Arrive, you feel the college rock influence (remember when college rock was a genre, in the late ’80s and early ’90s, when REM was always on the top of the list—this album has that literate feel, but also the beats and guitar tones). Thematically, When We Arrive is an album not about arriving but moving on, seemingly about accepting failings (mostly in others—think Tom Petty’s glorious put downs).”
