So because I’m slightly panicking about going to University in three weeks I decided to do a trial run in the Sims 3.

So far all I’ve done is decorate Sim Joe’s dorm room. Looking at it now only makes me sad because I know my actual dorm room will never be this cool.

Sim Joe’s also got a pet Cockatoo in case he gets lonely. I have named him Charlie.

hahaha isn’t so funny how that hogwarts university/the marauders vlog said they were doing race blind auditions and yet they manage somehow to have like 17 white ppl and like 2 poc in their cast??? and do you know what’s just hilarious those 2 poc are very light skinned like isn’t that???? just the funniest????? thing????? ever?????

The opposite to an anti-Snape panel isn't anti-James Potter/Marauders panel, it's a Pro-Snape panel.

(This isn't to say that I wouldn't love an anti-Marauders panel, because I can think of stuff for all of them; Peter's obvious, James being an arrogant bully, Sirius having literally no regard for anyone's safety if it gave him entertainment, and Remus being a coward when it came to standing up to his friends, and then again with fatherhood, but I'm just sayin'. James Potter has literally nothing to do with this. A lot of Snape fans seem to view James Potter as the antithesis of Snape, as if it's all about shipping. Ugh.)

Could you point out exactly were anyone involved with GeekyCon has stated that they don't like Slytherins? Because, as a Slytherin myself, I've had a fantastic time the past three years in which I attended.

Just a friendly reminder that criticizing characters/plots/cannon is not bullying. Having panels that criticize characters/plots/cannon is not bullying. Fictional characters are not real. (I can’t believe I just wrote that). You can’t bully someone who doesn’t exist. You can however have wildly different interpretations of the character.

Disagreeing about those interpretations is not bullying. Someone saying harsh things about a character you like is not bullying. It is possible to greatly disagree with someone and not attack them personally.

I’ve been going to LeakyCon/Geekycon since 2009. There have always been panels with polarizing or controversial topics. it has also, always been a safe, fun space to discuss these topics. On the Internet it is so easy throw around personal insults and accusations in these discussions. It is completely different to talk about these things in real life with fellow fans. LeakyCon/Geekycon has in my experience, created an environment where fans respect each other.

It is not perfect by any means. It is not a Fan Utopia. However, it is a place where you can talk about these things freely, and then move on to the next event.
