Hello. This will be my pinned post. I am a British person who wants to protect my country from fascists. I do not want to leave the EHRC and risk my human rights. I do not want to have the Equality Act abolished so I can lose my job for being a woman.

£15 an hour minimum wage for all and keeping my and everyone else’s human rights intact sounds much better. Pro LGBTQ, anti genocide, anti racism, anti xenophobia etc. the party that isn’t constantly scapegoating immigrants, trans people, disabled people, POC and anyone they decide to shit on next.

People, please please please prioritise the politics of your own country over the USA. You can vote in your own country (if it is a democracy…) and have more control over it and it has more control over you and you need to pay attention!! Also being aware of other countries is good too

This May we’ve gone a full 2 degrees over the previous record break. Think about how hot it was. It’ll be hotter in the summer.

I went to a country that was 40 degrees centigrade once.

The air was thick and heavy and it was labour just to breathe while the sun beat down on you in just seconds. Even after I soon got to go into an air conditioned hotel, I ended up getting heat exhaustion and threw up over and over. This was with me having worn sun protection and drinking massive amounts of water.

What if that happens here in the UK? With the high humidity making the heat even worse + our houses with shitty insulation only built to hold in heat and not to keep it cold in the summer + most of us not having air conditioning… think of how many people will be throwing up. How many will die. People already have been at 30 degrees!

We are crawling closer and closer to 40C.

Reform wants to scrap net zero. Do you want to throw up and die of heat stroke? What about your dogs? Your pets? Your grandparents who are extra vulnerable to the heat?

The mention of shooting kid characters and how you linked it to how people hit their real kids and people don’t get enraged enough about that also reminded me of how the real life culture of the usa lets people shoot up kids all the time because so many of them care more about guns than their own children.

Imagine that: the same people who defend guns over their kids then throwing a fit at it happening in fiction. I bet they’d do it. Fittingly hypocritical of them.

I hate hate hate that USA kids have to literally do gun drills because of how common it is. I hate how on the same day Charlie Kirk died a school shooting happened and so few people talked about it.

A school shooting happened in the 1990s in the UK and we changed our laws and it has not happened since. It is that simple. Children do not have to die.

(Of course, the USA and UK also shouldn’t be contributing to children being killed in other countries either such as the facts we both send weapons to Israel. Disgusting. Not sending weapons is incredibly easy and free and morally correct and yet.)

The UK's last school shooting was in 1996. It overhauled its gun-control laws after and there hasn't been another.

If you’re (RIGHTFULLY) pissed off at that voice actor guy for making racist jokes and indie creators being bigoted, then you’ll hate Reform UK even more!

They’re a racist party that blames everything on immigrants (especially Muslims and Black immigrants), POC and disabled people. Their members have said things like “Africans have a lower IQ” and more recently “Nigerians should be melted down to fill potholes” (this man then got ELECTED AS AN MP!)

Their narrative of “protecting” Britain from “outsiders” (anyone who is not white and British) and even praising a woman that called for asylum hotels that house traumatised refugees to be burned down which helped fuel violent racist riots!

Reform and Restore supporters have also had massive far right marches called “Unite the Kingdom” rallies which are riddled with straight up Nazis doing salutes.

Farage has played with racism since his earliest days in politics. In 2008 he named Enoch Powell, whose 1969

"Rivers of Blood" speech has been a touchstone for racists and fascists ever since, as his political hero.

In 2014 at the Ukip party conference, he said that "parts of Britain are now unrecognisable and look like a foreign land" because of migration and that

"having whole areas taken over is unacceptable".

Farage also said in 2014, "Any normal and fair-minded person would have a perfect right to be concerned if a group of Romanian people suddenly moved in next door"

During the 2015 general election, Farage suggested Muslims in Britain

"lack British values" and described them as wanting to form "a fifth column and kill us".

In 2020, in response to Black Lives Matter protests in London, Farage said,

"A new form of the Taliban was born

in the UK today. Unless we get moral leadership quickly our cities won't be worth living in."

Reform UK is riddled with racism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry - and some of the most extreme views.

During the 2024 election campaign, a Reform UK candidate said that Britain should have taken up the Nazis' "offer of neutrality" rather than fighting World War Two. The Reform UK's party spokesperson agreed, saying it was

"probably true".

One Reform UK councillor shared posts that spread racist conspiracy theories about "Zionist controllers" and

"Jewish supremacism".

Another of their councillors defended a politician who described the Covid-19 vaccination as "the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust"
