In honor of Ikeda Shōko 池田 晶子 (real name Terawaki Shōko 寺脇 晶子). She was one of the amazing animation directors of Inuyasha, as seen above.
She went on to become the chief animation director for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Sound! Euphonium. The Violet Evergarden film was one of her last works as an animation director.
To Ikeda-sensei and all the talented staff we lost in the KyoAni attack, you will always be remembered.
"Are you good in bed?" No, I can't sleep.
Be prepared to get comments like "Your hair is so pretty. You wrote her hair so pretty. Why is she so pretty?" And "Your writing is so good. I can really tell what he's saying and oh he smells so nice. That's a cool looking bag. Your beta has awesome shoes I bet. What's her name?"
Let the endless compliment cycle begin.
I’m so into this
It's five years later, I just saw this pop up on my feed, and I'm still so into this
happy new year -------------_--------------------
characters who crave affection but at the same time have no idea how to respond to actually receiving it due to the fact theyve rarely ever experienced it are my absolute favourite
I can't attach the image since it's wildly nsfw but imagine 3 Inuyashas and Kagome as Octave Tassaert's painting THE CURSÈD WOMAN (1859)
As one comment said "she don't look cursed to me"
I have not googled this yet to double check but I'm like 99% sure I know the painting you're talking about
And yeah she ain't having a bad day 😂
“But you already wrote that trope.”
I didn't realize it was March that I last worked on Merle, so I brought him back out this afternoon. I've opted to ignore parts of the actual photo, because there's just some things that you can't replicate with pencil and be satisfied with. (Ok, I can't. It'd drive me crazy.)
There's still a lot left to do, and I'll probably still be adjusting his jaw, but it's really starting to look like him, and I'm pleased 😊
Rest in peace Sam
You were a massive part of my childhood and pioneered my love of birds through jurassic park.
Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead
Yeah okay Ill reblog that!
Not a scholar at first, but the guy who wrote Jaws hated that people used it to justify hating sharks so much he dedicated the rest of his life to shark research and advocacy.
The woman who popularized gender reveals wishes she hadn't, afaik.
(afaik- the woman who popularized gender reveals did so because she had a long history of miscarriages. The reveal was a celebration of the fact that one of her pregnancies had gotten far enough that there WAS a physical sex to reveal. It was never intended to be like... *gestures at modern gender reveals* all that. That same kid later came out as trans and yes, the family had a second gender reveal for that lol.)
This whole thread is so beautiful to me that I can explain it
The man who invented the K-Cup coffee pod almost 20 years ago says he regrets doing so and can't understand the popularity of the products t
L. David Mech, who popularised the idea that there were 'alpha' and 'beta' wolves in his 1970 book The Wolf, has spent the rest of his career trying to debunk this. (The original studies were done on captive wolves, and thus didn't simulate an accurate model of wolf pack dynamics.)
The idea that wolf packs are led by a merciless dictator, or alpha wolf, comes from old studies of captive wolves. In the wild, wolf packs a
In the wild, researchers have found that most wolf packs are simply families, led by a breeding pair, and bloody duels for supremacy are rare.
“What would be the value of calling a human father the alpha male?” says L. David Mech, a senior research scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey, who has studied wolf packs in the wild for decades. “He’s just the father of the family. And that’s exactly the way it is with wolves.”
Saw this on Twitter and wanted to share.
Testing out some things with chibi Daryl. Of course I would have an easier time animating chibi Daryl instead of sexy Daryl. Except for the goatee, fixed the damn thing in PS.
Background is anime screenshot.
"But I don't like the ending/the character/the plot point. I would have done it differently."
Yes. Good. Go get a pen. This is where it begins.
