Taurus season (C.B)(5.2.18)
Loving Vincent (2017) Directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman
“When I was a girl, my life was music that was always getting louder. Everything moved me. A dog following a stranger. That made me feel so much. A calendar that showed the wrong month. I could have cried over it. I did. Where the smoke from a chimney ended. How an overturned bottle rested at the edge of a table. I spent my life learning to feel less. Every day I felt less. Is that growing old? Or is it something worse? You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness”
— Jonathan Safran Foer, Everything is Illuminated
“I used to dislike being sensitive. I thought it made me weak. But take away that single trait, and you take away the very essence of who I am. You take away my conscience, my ability to empathize, my intuition, my creativity, my deep appreciation for the little things, my vivid inner life, my deep awareness of others’ pain, and my passion for it all.”
— (via purplebuddhaquotes)
This is important. Being sensitive does not make a person weak. In fact, standing up for yourself and speaking up when someone is being mistreated are incredibly brave things to do, especially in this atmosphere where asking for respect will likely mean being shut down with accusations that you’re merely being “too sensitive.” Do not let anyone shame you out of your sensitivity.

“Depression is such a cruel punishment. There are no fevers, no rashes, no blood tests to send people scurrying in concern - just the slow erosion of self as insidious as cancer. and like cancer, it is essentially a solitary experience; a room in hell with only your name on the door.”
— Martha Manning
