i’m not sure if there’s already a post going around because i haven’t seen one, so i’ll make my own. puerto rico was just hit with hurricane fiona and the harm that this is bringing the island is huge — it may not seem like a big disaster to many, but puerto rico cannot handle another hurricane as they have not recovered fully from hurricane maria just yet.

people are losing their homes, they don’t have electricity, no water, etc. i’m linking some sources you can donate to to help out, if you’re able to. if you can’t, a reblog counts for so much too, as it may show up in the dashboard of someone who can donate. nobody deserves tumblr content creators. all u guys do is delete caption, steal gifs, post w/o credit and lie. there is so much more work that goes into a lot of those amazing gifs than u can imagine, everything from getting the coloring exactly right to almost blowing up ur computer trying to use topaz, avisynth and photoshop at the same time. all that for those gifs to get 32 notes on tumblr cus no one reblogs gifsets anymore and only for some asshat on twitter to steal it and get 4k rts.

If you really care about preventing government tyranny, your #1 priority must be making sure criminals have rights.

And that’s not a joke or an exaggeration.

If criminals don’t have rights, then all the government has to do is find some excuse to label people as criminals, and those people will no longer have rights. It’s what literally every tyrannical government in all of history has done.

If you believe that people who break the law should forfeit their rights, you’re literally as pro-tyranny as a person can get.
