I'd say this is one good EP. All songs have a different beat to each other so the album doesn't have very similar songs which makes the whole thing more successful. The lyrics and the beat are very clear to understand so will allow the listeners to understand more on the lyrics, the beat doesn't over do the lyrics unlike most songs out nowadays which is a bonus.

The EP in my opinion will sell very well because of how up to date all the songs sound which will give off a positive effect to those who buy the album once it gets released.

Andrea Essay Dance Show 2 Evaluation

For the second dance show we had to edit, I found it more complex then the first one. This being that there were more camera angles/positions so we had to make sure we had been focused once we started editing.

This is because, we needed to find the right starting point for the video and audio so it would work well because if we didn’t think it was right then the video would not of worked at all. For the start of this edit we had to make sure we would get the video going to the beat of the angle. This meant, that once we knew that both the video and audio/music were in sync with each other we could start cutting to different camera angles once there was a beat.  Some times I believe it didn’t work as either the beat came in too quickly after a beat, or there would be a beat and then it would be some time waiting for the next beat to be heard.  So if this was the case then I had to figure out how I would cut one of the camera angles and change it into a different one in a way that it would work if there had not been a beat. I believe during the editing process that there were times I was able to get on with what I had been doing and there were other times I would ask for help because I was not quite sure on if part of the video looked right after I had edited it and I just wanted to make sure that if it didn’t look right then I would be able to get rid of it knowing that if I didn’t ask for help and kept it in the video and once I uploaded it then and someone noticed it and said it didn’t work then I would of been disappointed that I should of known that it wouldn’t of worked instead of leaving it in there thinking that it would of worked.

When it came to colour correcting I didn’t find it as hard as the first dance show becasue there was not as many different coloured lights and it was just the a few different coloured lights but were shown at different times so it was easier to colour correct it as one part of the video I would colour correct it and then if it was the same light colour on the next part then I would try

to make it very similar to what the other part had been changed to so it would of looked either the same or similar to the other part I had just edited. Then if it had changed into a different colour light for a different part of the dance then I’d be able to know what colour light I would be working with for the next 2 minutes or so I’d be able to make it to a similar standard it would be if it had been edited professionally.

This was the first dance show video that we were given to edit and make it a standard we thought would be good enough to be shown.

I believe this edit had gone well, even though I did find it difficult at times.

Andrea's essays Dance show 1

For this project we had to edit 2 different dance shows.

The first one we was given to edit was a mix of different songs to edit too and we had to make sure the music was in sync with the dancers because otherwise it would not of worked at all.

At the start of the editing process for the first dance show video I had to make sure I was paying attention to it because with the actual audio there was a pause before it started whereas in the camera the music came straight in so I had to make sure I cut the actual audio and a very similar place on where it would 'kick' in so it would sync in with the video.

  This was quite difficult as I would cut a bit too early so the video was still starting before the music would so I spent quite a lot of time making sure I had it cut to the right point so it would both start at the same time.

Also, I had to change how the video started because with there being 3 different camera angles I wanted to start with a wide shot of the whole stage which zooms out when it starts there is a part where the camera jumps a little which it wouldn't of looked good if it was shown in the final edit it would of made the video unprofessional, so I had to cut a little out of the start and then fade in the video and the audio so it would all go together.

When it came to colour correcting the first dance show it was difficult to do because of the fact that lights was changing every now and then so the brightness would of increased by a lot or decreased quite a lot so there are parts they may not look because of the lighting on the dancers. However,  if the lighting was the same for a song it would be much better to colour correct it as we would be able to see what it was like in the video before and make sure it would still work with each other and so on with the video what would come after the one we had just finished colour correcting.

Andrea's Essays Body Documentary Evaluation

Body Image Documentary.

For this project we were given the task to edit a mini documentary which had already been filmed by students in the second year and we had to edit it to make it into a small documentary about body image.

During the editing process it was proven to be difficult at times for me because I had a feeling some of the filming was not good enough even though the information was very detailed and would of been good in the video so I got Andrea to help out with those parts. Also, in the editing process we had to edit it to a similar standard a professional editor would of done.

I found this edit quite difficult as I had only started to colour correct videos so I was still trying to figure out if parts looked good or not.

If I was able to of done more to this edit I believe I would of put more cutaways/cover shots in the video than I done. This would of worked more so it would of got a better view of what was being spoken about and then the audience wouldn't of just had to watch the same thing/person for a long length of time in the video.

 Also, I would of planned my structure out more so I would of fully known how I wanted to start my video, then know what I wanted the main subject to be about and finally how I wanted this video to run. This would of helped because it would of made the editing go much more smoothly and the video would of been much better and it would of been more interesting to watch.

Vengeance evaluation.

For our final project in our first year in college we had to create a 3 minute drama on a subject of our choice and in my group there was:

Jack Elmes who was the director. Donovan Marsden who was the producer Brogan Carnell (me) who was the production manager Adam Hurst who was the cinematographer and the main editor.

My group decided to do it on a revenge murder which we decided to film for 3 days to make sure we had everything we needed was filmed. I believe/felt the pre-production had gone very well as it all had been split into parts so we all had a equal amount of pre-production work to do and if it came to it we would help any of the other people in our group who was stuck on something or wanted to see what they had written was detailed enough to put onto Tumblr. Also, we was able to get pre-production done very easily and quite quickly, this was a positive thing for us because it would then give us enough time to film and edit our video in time. On the filming days there was a few problems here and there. First one being one of the main actors COULD NOT turn up to filming as he was in hospital and would not of been able to turn up to shoots because he was on crutches. So we had to have Jack Elmes be his replacement for his character

On the second day I believe there was not many problems as firstly me, Donovan and Adam would set up the track and Jack would set up the Sniper rig and once that was done and if Adam and Donovan were filming some parts where they would use either the track or sniper rig for a part me and Jack would of either watched the filming Adam had done, set up the props for the next part of just sit down until Donovan and Adam done other parts with just using the Sniper Rig me and Jack would move the track and set it up for the next part and then test it to see if it was smooth enough in which we had to put a piece of paper under one part of the track because the floor was a little uneven and we could notice it if we had filmed testing it out, we then saw that the paper had been working so it was ready for when Donovan came back so we could film that part in the tower. Lastly on the third and final day the only ones who turned up to the filming was me Jack and Donovan. However, Adam did ring and said that he was not able to make it. I also believe not many problems has occured apart from the sun shining on to the camera so we had to adjust it so I could see if the filming was going to work. Also we had a little problem on where the knife had broken so Donovan had to go ask our media technician if he had any tape so we could still use it (which luckily he did) and whilst Donovan had gone me and Jack would see if filming was working which it was and speak about what other parts needed filming or if there was anything else we could of added in which we did and then Donovan came back so we carried on filming until we made sure everything looked okay and we had everything filmed so we would not have anything missing when we start to edit. I have been evaluating my own edit which you can go see using this link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ER7gCOQhs3Q I used a suspenseful type of background music so it would go with the type of mood it gives off and a flashback sound affect for when we change back from present day to flashback scene and then back to present day. If I could change a few things I’d like to change some of the camera angles to make them seem more interesting as most of the angles were quite similar so I think it would of been better to have a few different angles when filming.

This is our third and final location for filming our drama. This is the part for when the flashback occurs on where the friend is murdered. We have chosen this location for this flashback as with the surroundings of this location it also gives off a negative effect so we are hoping that the audience will think that something will happen in this location.

This our second location for filming our drama. This is going to be the part where the main murder happens. We have chosen this part of the college car park as its away from the main car park and there are less cars that are parked there. Also with the surroundings it will give a negative feeling to the audience as we are hoping to film at about 5-6pm so it will have a darkened sky so it will give off the effect we want. Also we looked at the way the floor was and it was good enough to have the filming equipment on there.
