Cloak, Just in Time

I decided to take on another clay project. This time for my mother's birthday on October 8th. As I started planning out a Jack Skellington sculpture, it just kept growing... And growing. Until in the last image I've broken it into a 5 part series that can be put together as a set. Obviously, it will take forever, so she'll just get piece A with Jack on her birthday. Then E with Sally on Christmas, then B, etc etc. What makes this project crazy? I still plan on making Jack's head removable, with replacable ones for different expressions, and different hats for the holidays. This crazy idea came from my Dad who wants Mom to be able to have this out year round. ...oh god, I'm doomed.
I love these three so much, and I love their friendship even more. This moment made me geek out, and I'm so glad they all got to make a video together, in person. Friends! Now go have fun playing mini golf! @therealjacksepticeye @crankgameplays @pixlpit

This made everything worth it. My first project leaves me feeling so fulfilled after this. I’ll be working on Marvin next for you! You’ll get it PAX 2019 if I can make it happen! I’ll work harder to make the next one even better! And hopefully figure out why the glaze turned out so sticky…

my father tells me we have nothing to worry about. last night he sent me one of those email chains that say at the top “Safety Tips For The Women In Your Life!!!! Don’t Let Her Die!!”
me, and the stranger on the train. she is asleep and the man is asking me who i am going home to. i feel tears pricking the sides of my eyes. i am 13 while he towers over me. he reaches out one hand, and while i don’t know how she knows, she speaks up without opening her eyes: “If you touch my daughter, sir, I will murder you.” Whatever he grumbles is lost in history, because this moment I am so grateful for the existence of other people that I cannot breathe.
I am 19 and on my phone when i become aware of a 13 year old girl is smiling nervously at a man who’s saying disgusting things. I grab her arm. “There you are, cindy,” I say, and then look at the man like he is bile. “Do you need something from my sister?” i ask, and i walk away with her. she cries later.
this is the way of things: a silent, secret web. our promise to each other that despite our differences, when it comes to the wire, we become family, instantly. the unspoken promise. i’m here. i’m watching. i’ll witness.

I want this in my life
I love being in college because there are no actual adults around so everyone is just going around bullshitting their way through basic tasks. Like I can be like “I think I got better from my cold because I ate an orange yesterday” and everyone is like “Yeah makes sense” and somebody could just be like “I’m gonna put my pillow in the washing machine to clean it” and everyone’s like “Sounds like a great idea John”
My god, I miss these kinds of college moments
