Broken Sword 5 PS4 gameplay
Hi there, two days ago a gameplay video of the upcoming Broken Sword 5 PS4 release was uploaded on Revolution Software Youtube account. It shows the PS4 gameplay with controller.
The game will be enhanced compared to the previous versions, as written on the revolution’s website :
“The release will feature enhancements over the other versions including additional animation and audio, a character gallery section and many console-specific enhancements, continuing Revolution’s proud history on previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Both versions will feature full English, German, French, Italian and Spanish speech, with additional Russian and Polish subtitles too.”
Broken Sword 5 will be available this summer (probably on August) and Revolution will be at Gamescom in Cologne on Friday 7th August (more info here)
Broken Sword 5 XBOX ONE and PS4 trailer
Earlier today, new videos were released on the Revolution Youtube channel, and a few minutes later disappeared.
But they’re back, and it’s the announcement of Broken Sword 5 on XBOX ONE and PS4, which will be available in summer 2015.
It’s exactly the same trailer as the april 2014 episode 2 trailer, but with the final visual of the XBOX ONE and PS4 boxes. Enjoy !
Well that enumeration clearly comes from In Cold Blood, eh? Ooooooor, is this a hint what your new game will be?! Or both? :P
No, not a hint about the new game :) But yes, that enum is from ICB
Too bad ;-)
It would have been nice to have a Cold Blood sequel ;-)
Pay attention in class ;) #somethingsbrewing

The past, present and future of adventure games on IGN UK
Wow ! What an incredible cast we have here !
Take a look: Larry Ahern, Charles Cecil, Noah Falstein, David Fox, Dave Gilbert, Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman, Jane Jensen, Chris Jones, Al Lowe, Josh Mandel, Dan Marshall, Rand Miller, Benoît Sokal and Gary Winnick reunited on one and unique table (so to speak) to discuss about adventure games !
This is a two-page article about their experience in that genre, storytelling, and also their thoughts about who (or what) killed adventure games in the late 90's.
You can read it here !
Happy Birthday Revolution :) I started full time work on 1st March 1990, as the first full time team member. Dave Sykes joined me a week or so later. The project was Lure of the Temptress, although it had no name until the very last moment.
We were younger then, but we’re still up for it :)
Happy Birthday ;-)

Charles Cecil considering all-new project before returning to Broken Sword (version française dispo sur gameblog)
An article from Digital Spy talks about Revolution's next project, from Charles Cecil himself ! Not a big scoop, but possible clues.

Hi Tony, something I have been wondering about for a while is the directors cut of BS 1+2. The 'wondering' is twofold, 1) Why were some small things removed from BS1:DC? Like blood in scenes and some of the misc. item examination (I know this from experience of playing both versions). - 2) As for BS2:DC, it seems like aside from the face portraits and the comic that nothing was added, is there a reason for that? I don't want this to seem like I am complaining, I love the series :D Rich.
Hi,
Nothing was removed from BS1:DC, rather, it wasn’t added, as the game was rebuilt from scratch. Initially it was the GBA game which had to be massively cut back to fit the cart. Later, when it turned into the DC, much more was added. But, alas, not everything.
BS2:DC is in-fact called BS2:Remastered, hence no additions.
I didn’t know BS1 Director’s cut was rebuild from scratch !
Coded up a prologue system today. This is where we do the continuity announcements between scenes of gameplay. In theory it’s nice and simple to do, but some of us have to stifle our screams when we remember the untold grief we had trying to shoehorn these into the Director’s Cut. The engine just didn’t want to do it nicely. In theory, I should have do this a long time ago in Virtual Theatre 7, but the flexibility was always there, and its gone in a treat. A good way to end a busy week.

One more delightful ship from my lovely childhood.
They are villains of the video game “Broken Sword 3 The Sleeping Dragon”. The old man’s name is Susarro, he runs the evil organization, the previous owner of which was supposed to be killed off by main characters. The girl’s name is Petra and she is his assassin/torture technician.
The dynamic between two is…. Eh…
Well, the fun part is, none of them are actually what they are described and supposed to be.
Petra is supposed to be a professional assassin, but is too emotional and carried away by any possibility of torture. She is spoiled, but knows how to present it as her zest, passionate and polite . She is the charming villainess, but definitely not a killing machine.
Susarro is described as a merciless and soulless man. Well, he is one evil and cruel dude, but he does have a soul, which he puts in Petra. He is affectionate to her, forgives her every mistake, allows her to torment anyone she wants, noting how creative in that affair his “dear girl” is.
Overall they are a good villain/minion ship, with none of the abuse that kind of ships usually have.
Well they were, until the PLOT TWIST.
