Shoutout to Tay'kaa "I wish I had siblings" Marr who is usually a chill guy, but nearly flips his shit when he hears about how Crosshair's brothers left him in the hands of the Empire twice.
It's a fic idea that's just kinda been hanging around in the back of my mind. Like post S3 - all of them on Pabu, Tay's finally reunited with Crosshair again and they're going steady and trying to have a real relationship with each other.
Meaning he's got to meet the siblings.
For the most part it goes well - they're just happy to see Crosshair happy (and Tech of course does an extensive background check on Tay's ass with Phee's help) but then Tay starts putting two and two together and is like - "Hey wait a minute..."
At this point, Crosshair's worked out things with his brothers so there's no hard feelings or anything, and so when Tay's like "How come I never saw them around while we were working together?" Crosshair tells him about the two nights on Kamino. It's not too big a deal for him, but Tay's looking back on it like "What the fuck??"
Now, Chagrians are born in like pods of three or two eggs, meaning technically Tay has siblings (an older sister and a younger brother I've decided), but they were separated and sold off to different ventures after they grew out of their tadpole state, so Tay never knew about them. It isn't until later, when he's working with the Empire that he finds out about this bit of Chagrian lore and it kinda messes him up because since he was little he wanted siblings.
Like he wanted that bond and comradery that comes with having a sibling, and he tries to have it with a Trandoshan he works with during his time with the Black Sun, but it's like a Scar and Mufasa type dynamic. Tay thinks he and the Trandoshan as brothers, but the Trandoshan honestly just wants Tay dead because he thinks he's a pain.
So when Tay hears that Crosshair had siblings and they left him behind - much like the Trandoshan did to him, which led to Tay falling into Empire custody - it honestly kind of pisses him off.
He's projecting a little bit and also being protective because he knows what a rough time Crosshair had during his time with the Empire, so he's like, "How could you leave him behind like that?? Aren't you brothers??? Don't you look out for each other?"
Anyways, he gets pretty worked up about it, and it's pretty obvious to the rest of them that there's more to his anger, and there are some underlying issues so Crosshair's brothers don't really take it to heart - though they do feel a bit guilty.
It's like the most intense they've really seen Tay be and he's just digging into them - all jealous in the fact that they do have each other, but also furious that despite that luxury they left Crosshair behind.
Crosshair's able to play peacekeeper though, reassuring Tay it was like his choice to stay anyways and they've since worked things out so there's no need for him to get upset on Crosshair's behalf. Eventually Tay calms down and apologizes, realizing the underlying issues and understanding Crosshair made his choices both times and if his brothers could've they wouldn't have left him behind like they did.
But it brings up that empty feeling Tay always felt - like that helpless feeling of something being missing from his being because he doesn't have his siblings around and never got the privilege to know them. At the least now, he's on Pabu and has Crosshair's support, and the friendship of the rest of Crosshair's family so that empty feeling slowly becomes less and less a part of him over time.
This game is so funny 😂 WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN DATE THE CHAT TEXT BOX?!?! and she's hot?!?! She is classified as the game itself and frankly thats so funny.
