“Why were you smiling at them? Are you hiding something from me?”
It wasn’t often Andy was allowed outside, even supervised. But he’d been getting so stuff lately, Adam agreed to take him on a walk around the neighborhood. Still, when Andy perked up and smiled as a neighbor passed by, he felt his blood run cold. “Why were you smiling at them?” He asked in a low growl. “Are you hiding something from me?”
“That’s a good idea,” Adam agreed, snaking an arm around Andy’s waist as he turned them back towards home. “You’re safer there anyways, and I like knowing you’re at home. It makes me more... comfortable. We’ll grab a snack and sit in the garden, hm? You can water the plants.”
He nodded a little as he said he was safer at home. He knew he’d feel a lot better once they returned. He smiled and agreed with him.” Yeah,it’ll be nice to sit among the flowers with you.”
The older man led him back to the house with a firm hand on the small of his back, locking every lock on the door as he usually did once they entered. He smiled, satisfied with their outing. “Are you hungry, darling?”
Andy turned and watched as he locked the doors, feeling better and better as he went. He smiled back and nodded.” Didn’t realize how hungry I was, what should we have?”
