I was contemplating what Dirk said about Thor not being nearly as good-looking as people say and that can’t possibly be true so I forward two theories: Thor is not Dirk’s type (I suspect he prefers small losers with impossibly blue eyes and cute supportive police sheriffs) or Dirk was lying about not finding Thor attractive because he was salty about something, such as Thor not wanting to be his BFF.

This is a really brilliant, well written show with beautifully believable characters and the best pot ive seen in a long time. The fandom is the most lovely community that I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of (and for someone who signed off from all the drama of fandoms a long time ago - that is honestly saying something).

The whole of season 1 is currently on netflix for u to binge to your hearts content, and season 2 is currently airing Saturdays 9/8c on BBC America (everyone else in the world - you can find s2 online, and it will also be up on netflix very soon!)

Purple People Eater

Is there no other out there that thinks, like I, that the Purple People Eater is THE boy Dirk/everyone is looking for??

Theory: The Mage, who finally discovered the prophecy, would do anything in his power to make sure it wouldn’t come true. So what does he do?

1) He actively makes the feud between the families worse so that they would never unite (taking Farson, handing the Trosts the guns)

2) Getting rid of all ‘witchakookoos’ that could open ‘the door into a dream’. This is the reason the Kellum knights capture anything or anyone that is suspicious and killing it.

3) Hiding the boy that would save Wendimoor. I think the Mage knows who this boy is, since the paintings in the boy’s room at the Cardenas’ have battles between the boy and the Mage. The Mage finds a way into our world, creates the house within the house to hide the boy and turns him in to a monster just in case anyone would find the house within the house. Anyone finding the monster would not figure out that it is a boy that needs help, also because the monster can’t speak in normal speed (I think it’s slow motion) Time also doesn’t move forward, or as it does in this world, so the boy didn’t grow up, a strong clue would be the scissors with the FRESH blood)

4) Get an apprentice and order it to kill dirk Gently, the person that would bring the boy with him to Wendimoor.

Is the show in danger?: This website that monitors scifi shows possible cancellations reckons it is. The ratings for season 2 are lower than season 1.

Why start now?: The renewal for season 2 came halfway through season 1, after episode 4 aired. Since season 2 is 10 episodes the halfway point will be after episode 5 which airs 11/11/17, this Saturday.

What do I do?: Participate in the social media campaign starting tomorrow.

It will be spilt it up into two weeks:

Week 1 begins 11/8/17: Use #SaveDirkGently to share why you love the show, how much you want it to continue, etc.

Week 2 begins 11/15/17: Use #RowdyForS3 on twitter and #RowdyForSeason3 everywhere else and post a picture of yourself making the Rowdy 3 symbol (holding up 3 fingers) and include how much you want a season 3.

We will also have twitter power hours where we all post at the same time and tag the bbcamerica, amc, and international Netflix accounts. We are planning to have one on Saturday 11/11/17 at 8pm eastern time, one hour before the show airs. More details will be posted about the power hours soon.

Any art using either of these hashtags is also highly encouraged! Season 3 is rumored to involve aliens so feel free to incorporate that into the art if you like.

I’m fucking screaming because the five (very important!) paintings we see in the Cardenas house are (in no particular order) a man holding the Space Rabbit gun, what looks like the motel where Priest cornered Amanda and Vogel, a suspicious-looking man next to an ominous-looking tree, the Infant, Male, Jackson, Pollock boat, and the fucking cowboy that Todd drew on the napkin in season one.
