since my last sketch the weather turned and we've had a lot of hail and thunder storms and i was compelled to draw... him :^)

last night i did this sketch of the scene from the north water where otto shares his (accurate) prophetic dreams and sumner tells him that dreams are a mental shite pile but it also rather looks like parents berating their large remorseful son, saying how disappointed they are with his behaviour

hey BS friends, i badly want to contribute to the upcoming 2nd issue of the Freedom in the Dark zine, and i am trying to come up with some Concepts to pitch, but i am struggling to form any thoughts beyond Flint.... (* ´ ﹃｀*) (=♡ ᆺ ♡=), so do you want to help me brainstorm?? what are themes/concepts/characters/pairings/AUs you would like to see? i would love some ideas to get excited about :)

as some of you may have noticed i became very enamoured by the character of Thomas Cromwell in Wolf Hall, and the other day i was reading about the portrait of actual Thomas Cromwell by the painter Hans Holbein, and that of all the portraits he made, the one of Cromwell seemed the most mocking and unflattering. i felt compelled to create a more flattering image of him, and i spent the past four weeks or so doing just that :)

earlier this week i learned how to make traditional ink from galls of the marble gall wasp! during the workshop we learned about the relationship between the oak and the wasps, and a little bit about the historical use of this ink, and then were given a petri dish and pipette, some pure gall juice (crushed galls soaked in water, then strained to leave only the liquid), iron sulfate crystals and gum arabic to add to our dish to do some experimenting ourselves. it was so much fun! i love when my special interests – history, ecology, art – overlap :) and i love the look of the ink on paper :) will definitely try to make a bottle of ink on my own when the wasps have left their galls later in the year

started making a curtain/doorframe hanging for this doorless frame in my living room last autumn and i Finally finished the last knots today :^)

had to keep track of the length of the cords somehow

its probably because i imprinted on disney's robin hood as a child and because cromwell refers to himself as a dog and to henry as a lion that i became possessed by the idea of drawing anthropomorphic versions of them with cromwell as an irish wolfhound
