Hilary Swank won an Oscar for playing a trans man. I could name a WHOLE bunch more, but Scarlett Johansson gets a bunch of shit for doing the same thing....okay. I completely understand the frustration, Black entertainers dealt with not being cast for years, but they got smart they started writing stories for themselves. Like Moonlight, Get Out, Insecure, Girls Trip all movies/ TV shows FOR us BY us. In the 90s we had In Living Color, Living Single, Martin, The Jamie Foxx Show.
