I give private lacrosse lessons to little girls on the weekends and today, one of the girls asked why I never bring my boyfriend with me. So, I explained to her and the other group of little girls that I don’t have a boyfriend because I like girls. Instead of being ridiculed or given dirty looks, she smiled and said “Bring your lady friend next time!” She’s five. A five year old has more understanding of the LGBT community than most adults do.
