To All of You Who’ve Shown Up,

Hey.

Bucky here.

I don’t usually do open letters, but I figured this one's important. You all have been showing up—leaving kind words, sending questions, making this corner of the internet feel like something real. So you deserve to know what’s going on, even if it’s just a pause.

Redacted—my right hand, my partner, my person—is taking a step back for a bit. She got some tough news at the hospital recently. The kind that makes you drop everything and focus in. So that’s what we’re doing. Focusing in. Slowing down. Breathing through it.

Don’t worry, she’s still here. Still got her fire. But for now, we’re switching off the noise, just for a little while. Might be radio silence on this page. Might not be any new posts or cheeky answers or banter for a stretch. That doesn’t mean we’re gone.

It just means we’re doing what we gotta do: taking care. Being gentle. Making space to feel whatever comes up.

I know some of you came here for the jokes or the flirting or the way Red plays around in my voice, and hey—that’ll come back. She’s a hell of a spark. You’ll see it again soon enough.

But for now, if you’ve got a kind word to spare, or just wanna send quiet support into the void, we’ll take it. And if you don’t hear anything back for a while, just know we’re still here. Still holding on. Still walking forward, even if it’s a little slower.

i think having an ex-feral cat ends up making you one of the best owners out there, it builds up resilience

one time i tried to knit a scarf for my cat and she hated it so much 💔 i ended up giving it to my dog instead

not quite sure why i can’t sleep lately. but i’ve got the kinda tired you cant just sleep away, and i get real restless at night

i’ve only been to brooklyn a handful of times in my though, my family always went to philly more often to visit some friends. real nice place though brooklyn, i’ve been hoping to go back to see it now that i’ve got the means for it

moving on from that, i know youre a bit older and probably got some older taste, but any music you like to listen to? trying to find some new songs to see if it helps me sleep

Haven’t really been chasin’ new sounds, but I’ve been into low, moody stuff lately. Gritty guitars. Slow builds. Stuff that sits in your chest and stays. Been replayin’ a lot of Chelsea wolf, some Johnny cash. Red showed me some stuff by that Hozier. I like him.

Good morning sweetheart! I’m sorry it’s been a few days since I reached out, it’s been a little crazy.

I just got home last night from my trip and I’m exhausted. I’m a dummy and didn’t think to maybe take a day off (or at least clear a few patients off my morning schedule) to recover so now I have 10+ hour work day to look forward too 🫠

I had no idea you were on this platform but I'm shocked that you are and it honestly makes me laugh so hard.

I just wrote this to check in because life can be hard for people and I know you're not super big on sharing or talking about emotions but I just wanted to let you know a lot of people are here for you and you are an amazing human being.

I read about you at the museum and I just have to say you're my favorite of the commandos (and you had the coolest outfits) but I wanted to thank you for your service as well because I certainly don't have the guts like you do and you doing so much, is inspiring to make me to want to become a better person. Thank you for being you and I hope you're doing okay 🥺

And… I appreciate all of that. Really. Don’t always know what to say when people talk to me like that, but I hear you. Loud and clear. If anything I did makes someone wanna do a little better, be a little braver—guess that counts for somethin’.

awww that’s so cute!!! my cat is a street cat too, she was pretty feral when i rescued her but she adapted pretty well slowly. hid under the couch for the first like month though to stay away from my puppy.

feral pine tree would be pretty cute though…

but baby girl is perfect! she’s a little princess now! she needs a crown or something.

I've tried makin' her little hats before, but she just takes them off.

Red tried dressing her in a little sweater and nearly lost an eye.

So I tend to avoid forcing her to wear things.

Street cats are good.

You don't have to worry about 'em when shit happens.

Alpine isn't bothered by thunder which is refreshing.

Wow—I didn’t actually think I’d get an answer, but being wrong is nice sometimes. :D

I showed the post to my cat and he started meowing; I think he can tell when someone is also a cat person.

Being nightmare free for a while is always good! I used to have a couple nightmares that would come back each year at the same time, which weren’t very fun. Luckily they’ve mostly gone away by now.

Hopefully that can happen for you too eventually. :]

Please tell Alpine that my cat said ‘meow’—he might be trying to flirt, I’m not too sure

I didn't realise I was a cat person until Alpine wiggled her way into my life.

so sorry for not reaponding earlier ive been so stressed and a litte worried the past few days…

but yeah i promise to get you a good book!! and yes i also enjoy reading books too… my favs have to be harry potter, twilight and a little one called the mulberry tree i read back when i was younger…

and as for what else im shopping for.. just some new clothes probably, some pyjamas and other stuff from like victorias secret i wont lie… 😌😌😌
