scrolling twitter today and then coming over here is like walking out of a burning building and then walking into the calm remains of a building that burnt down 5 years ago and has been reclaimed by nature.
Well here we go again
back from whence we came ig
the anniversary of library paste man’s death is in four days.
One hundred and ten years ago to the day. Amazing. Incredible.

Bro, christopher columbas was a colonizer piece of shit and all, but if youre not talking about the forced sterilization of indigenous women, the lack of access to clean drinking water on reserves, the missing indigenous women who go missing with no investigation, or any of the other multitudes of indigenous issues happening currently today, your bonus woke points for saying fuck christopher columbus arent worth shit tbh
Hope it's okay to add to this, I wanted to know more about these specific issues so here are some links for people:
on forced sterilization
on water crises
on missing persons (also here)
Wikipedia article outlining major issues
I think those are pretty US-centric, so here is Canadian info:
8 Key Issues for Indigenous Peoples in Canada
water crises (Canada-specific)
history and social info about their oppression
Lastly, I started wondering if Alaska has unique issues for its indigenous population, and it appears to:
info on Alaskan Natives' history
"10 things you should know" (including hardships they face)
info on cops in Alaska
info on hawaiian sovereignty
All of this also applies to indigenous populations in Latin America and the Caribbean, and non-whitepassing Native + Mestizo Latinxs stateside as well.
Please don't forget the whole other half of the Americas + the other American continent in your indigenous activism just because those indigenous peoples reside in the global south when they face the same colonial violence and racial/sexual terrorization and genocides as their northern neighbors & cousins.
And on a sudden whim I said, fuck it, I’m going to record a dramatic reading of @glumshoe’s erotic choose your own adventure gay Roman period piece.
(Then I spent ages dubbing in music and sound effects in an attempt to cover the traffic noise in the background.)
I… I think the might be the best thing that has ever happened to me…
I have listened to this FIVE TIMES and it keeps making me laugh. Normally I’m sort of mortified by the sound of my own writing being read aloud, but this is so well done that it doesn’t even sound like mine anymore. The jokes that are only vaguely funny in my head are hysterical when delivered with such skill. Thank you for creating genuine art out of my shitpost.
X-Men are real, their powers are just super shitty.
[captions] Narrator from behind camera: “Hi, this is my friend Anna Smith, she has a superpower. Whenever she touches any electronic the fire alarm will go off. Please, show!” Anna: “Would you like to watch some [pauses, touches tv. fire alarm rings out before stopping abruptly] TV? [laughter offscreen] How bout- you want some [pauses, touches A/C controls. fire alarms rings out before stopping abruptly] cold air?[laughter offscreen] How ‘bout turn the lights off? [touches light, fire alarm rings out once] Narrator: “Wait, show me- show me your cool basketball trick?” Anna: [jumps and touches fire alarm, causing it to go off once] “KOBE!” [laughter offscreen] D’you want some [touches microwave, fire alarm goes off before stopping abruptly] popcorn?” Narrator: “Oh no, it’s literally just you. [bangs hand on microwave, fire alarm is completely silent] I-” [laughs]

Most people I know cannot sleep until they crawl through someone else’s hollow. There are nights when I wish we were all still children, but then again, I suppose we may be or at least there is no other way to explain how we make every doorway our own. The way we stain ourselves & anything else that moves. The way we scream into the dark like a siren & the weeping, yet another thing we never mention in the morning. I think I am starting to vanish slowly from head to toe. There are ten different ways to say sunset. The bartender says my face is wearing all of them.

this is what this picture sounds like
the remote, secluded and little known rice terraces of yuanyang county in china’s yunnan province were built by the hani people along the contours of ailao mountain range five hundred years ago. during the early spring season, the terraces, once planted, are irrigated with spring water from the forest above, reflecting sunlight to create these stain glass like landscapes.
