In Farsi if you say you want to eat someone’s liver, it means you adore them. It sounds so weird when you translate it but it’s so natural in Farsi. People get really creative in expressing how they are going to consume your liver.
"I want to saute your liver with browned garlic and parsley and a reduced mustard sauce and delicately enjoy it with a side of Gouda and Pinot Grigio"
"I’d like to barbeque your liver and eat it over the fire wrapped in sangak bread."
But I mean, really. It's enough to make a girl hungry.

Sadly, the authorities are against this art form, for the same reason that they oppose things like men’s ties – they think it is a sign of Westernisation. They shouldn’t worry, because many customers actually request tattoos with Iranian elements, like images of Zarathustra, Achamenid soldiers, Faravahar symbols, Nastaliq calligraphy, and even images from The Book of Kings
oh! a fellow seattlite :D i'm sure your city misses you too.
!سالام کترین جون I hope your summer has been, and continues to be wonderful! I'm at the UW Madison Persian program right now and I was wondering, do you still have access to the Harry Potter books in Persian? !مرسی -Bethany
