i induced sleep paralysis in my first try, you can too
GUYS this shi WORKS. I tried for the first time this morning (USING THE FREQUENCY I PUT DOWN AT THE PAGE, not to mean I tried sleep para for the first time lol) around 7 am and had a hella vivid, a logical dream where it had no ridiculous dream element at all. It was SO vivid. Then i woke up, it all took like 15 minutes, it was a sleep paralysis. HOWEVER, now i know it happens like this and this is frustrating, but ive serious anxiety & panick attack issues, i think thats why i get overly panicked when my mind is in altered states but i couldve turned it into void state/ or shift thru it so easily!! i want to be fulllyyyy honest and transparent with yall, when sharing my experiences i dont add unreal stuff to the story or lie to you so, yeah, even someone like me (i mean, ive been practicing lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis since I was a little kid and ive a huge habit of meditating &yoga) CAN have hard times with these.
if yall be ever frustrated, dont dwell on it. your feelings are so valid and you of course can feel like youve ''failed'', or lost hope, but dont. even if you dont believe in spiritualism, shifting, law of assumption, you CAN still practice them cause they dont require belief.
It worked in my first try? I was kinda surprised cause my skeptical mind normally never lets me! and i dont gain much from staying up all nigth but i was exhausted. I tried it again after like 10 minutes, y'know I woke up after the sleep paralysis, and once more, I had a long and vivid, LOGICAL dream of my desired reality! It felt so damn real and not like a dream at all. im glad cause i dont often dream about my DR. it was not a fully shift but still im grateful and willing to try again.
i HIGHHHLYYY reccomend this video.
Thank you so much the creator of this video you've done a masterpiece

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 𓂃 you’re trying to feel your dr with your cr senses
⠀a lengthy shifting guide
why is it so hard to shift from your cr to your dr but not so much vice versa? you’ve spent the first large chunk of your life believing this reality to be the full extent and foundation of existence. even if you now logically understand this not to be the case, the years spent curating and deepening a mental, emotional, and physical anchor to this reality has warped your perception of reality and instilled in to you the subconscious idea that your cr is the default. and in treating it as the default, the end all be all, and in compromising with it, you reinforce the idea that you are attached or stuck here—that it is even a place to get stuck in in the first place. not only do you trap yourself in this reality and grant it power over you that it does not actually have, you start viewing your cr as the “starting point” too, and shifting as some form of transportation from point A to point B. accompanying this belief is an imagined distance created between your current reality and desired reality. you might’ve already recognised this in yourself; the feeling that your dr is somehow faraway, a place that needs to be travelled to.
it’s important to make and internalise the distinction between a shift in realities as an act of metaphysical travel, and a shift in realities as a shift in focus. imo the former is a much better descriptor for what shifting actually is in essence. i will go into more depth later, but a byproduct of being raised the way you were, growing up knowing nothing but your cr and rooting & centring yourself wholly (confined) within it, is the over identification you end up developing with your cr self. you are not living reality, you are watching it. but after years of the constant unbroken immersion, the two become almost impossible to distinguish. you define yourself by and take on as if they were your own the thoughts and identity and feelings of the “vessel” you are observing, and let them dictate how you experience reality. the lines begin to blur between you; your cr self, and you; your awareness/the observer.
feel your hand. don’t touch it, but notice it’s weight and temperature, or the air around it. now feel the feeler. can you feel yourself? or your body, maybe? now go a step further and feel the one feeling. you probably aren’t fully able to, but this is the observer. “the observer”, or the state of being after breaking the immersion, is you in your natural or purest state. it has also been described as pure awareness, the void state, ego death, sakshi, the self, anatta, and interpreted in different ways across a multitude of different religions and branches of spirituality & philosophy, all used as a means to an end for different things. fyi—i’m not saying you have to completely forsake your cr identity or start ignoring/dismissing your senses or thoughts to shift, just understand that those things don’t define you or your reality. the means to the end here is just getting a point across and hopefully helping improve with the approach you take to shifting. all of this to say, you’re not travelling from point A to point B. point A and B are not places you can (technically) even travel to or exist in, because you’re just watching/observing/being aware of. shifting is not the transportation of a self from one location to another. shifting is simply changing what is focused on/experienced; from one stream of experience to another. a shift in focus.
to summarise, you as in your ego, the you in this cr as you know it, your body, your brain, your thoughts, your identity, don’t actually go or shift anywhere. you, your awareness, in favour of perceiving you, your cr self, the one sat at your computer or phone or whatever reading this right now, starts perceiving a different you/ego/self—one that could have the exact same personality, memories, and thoughts, just in another realty, or one that is a different person entirely. there is only a change or “shift” for the observer, not the cr self or ego. so stop trying to feel your dr with your cr senses. you’re not going to. you’re so immersed in your cr and cr self that you automatically rely on this reality’s bodies’ senses to gauge your success when you try to shift, waiting for your cr self to get a cue that it’s never going to get. the surroundings your cr self feels aren’t going to go anywhere. nor are your senses going to shut off. your cr body will continue to receive sensory information, because that’s what bodies do. so don’t lie there expecting your bedsheets to disappear or magically warp into your dr surroundings or something and feel like you’ve failed when they don’t. shifting is not about somehow willing your surroundings to change or lying in your room forcefully convincing yourself that your senses are feeling something else, it’s about acknowledging what’s beyond those senses. feeling and connecting to what your dr self feels.
if you can still feel your cr, it’s not you feeling it, it’s your cr self. and you are not your cr self.
you can apply this to your thoughts too. your thoughts are no less your cr self’s than your senses are. if you start getting doubts mid attempt or can’t let go of the thought or feeling that you’re not in your dr, remind yourself that you are not your feelings or thoughts or doubts. you are simply observing them. of course your cr self will think that they’re still in their cr, they are. just ignore them and shift your attention elsewhere. your focus and awareness are what dictate what you experience, if you relinquish your focus from your cr and direct it to your dr instead, that’s where you’ll “be”.
obviously there’s no one set way to shift, so if you want you can stop reading here and apply this information to your shifting journey in whatever way suits you. if you’re interested in my method though, here’s the compilation of all this info into practical steps you can actually take to shift.
get comfortable somewhere you won’t be disturbed. close your eyes and focus on what you can see. the light behind your eyelids, shapes, colours, whatever. but instead of automatically interpreting these sensations as belonging to your cr, allow them to become sensory input from your dr. light? that’s coming from the lamp by the xyz in your dr bedroom. or maybe your in a field if that’s a fitting setting for your dr, and it’s the sun shining down on you. shapes? that’s because you’ve been lying down with your eyes closed for a while now, you’re tired after your classes or job or whatever you do in your dr. even if it’s nothing at all, let it be your drs nothing. just feel it. do this for about a minute.
then move onto your body. whether it’s sinking, lightness, tingling, focus on it. and do the exact same as you did for the previous step, interpret it as input coming from your dr. don’t worry if you can still feel your body lying in your bed, because your surroundings aren’t going to change—at least not physically. again, those sensations belong to your cr self, and they don’t prevent awareness from directing itself elsewhere. the goal here is to shift your focus away from them and onto something else, so hyperfocusing on your cr and worrying about your surroundings is counterintuitive. just gently guide your attention back to your dr, really try feel your dr surroundings and what your dr body is currently feeling. if you can’t fully avert your focus away from your cr, that’s fine, at the very least just try receive/tap into the input coming from your dr alongside your cr.
finally focus on what you can hear. if you’ve already managed to make a connection with your dr through your sight and physical senses just build up on what you’ve already got. feel grass tickling your skin? deepen the connection there by focusing on the sound now too, the wind blowing through it. see light behind your eyes? focus on the hum of the lights.
repeat these exercises over and over, deepening the connection with each cycle. if you don’t manage to get anything the first cycle just keep going until you do. it might take some practice. like i mentioned before, after spending so much time here and being in constant attunement with your cr self, the sense that your cr is the default starts to take root and it can be difficult to shake the feeling that you’re just indefinitely “here”. it’s normal for it to take some time to learn how to question this feeling and push past it. since you've never (technically?) been aware of anything outside of this reality, learning how to do so can be a bit like learning how to use a muscle you've never used before.
this method operates on the idea that reality is something that is tuned into through focus & narrowed awareness and not something metaphysically travelled across, so for the most success with it, i’d recommend starting to make a conscious effort to see your dr less like a place and more like a wavelength or channel, a perspective already existing beyond your current focus. shifting to your dr then becomes an effort to notice and receive input from this channel/wavelength, input that already exists out there and that simply needs to be acknowledged. you’re just picking up on what’s already there, feeling something that a version of you already feels.
persist in the belief that reality is observed and flexible. you’re not "stuck" anywhere unless you believe you are.
Hey.. I lowk had a revelation & I decided that my scripted pressure DR lore was too ass so I'm rehauling the entire thing because I couldn't stop cringing at most of the stuff (and that's what was making me soo unmotivated. SHOCKER!!!!)
HEY.. I'm gonna start feeding y'all lil crumbs of lore when I'm done.. tee-hee..
Do you shift from the void? If so which way to enter the void do you prefer?
Hello!! I do shift from the void, and I don't wanna pour a lotta water so here's my OWN method of getting into the void (because every other one makes me fall asleep) + the list of things that I think helped me with getting into the void:
𖥔 01. — First off, I put on a sub/frequency/theta waves in the background in a way so it's kind of there but not too distracting, then lay down on my back, limbs not touching (obvi optional, but laying differently knocks me right out), and just lay there marinating in my thoughts for good 10 minutes. After a while my thoughts aren't as intense, and then random stuff comes up in my head. That's when I know that I'm about to fall asleep so I just start counting to a 100, and with each number I affirm things like "I'm growing more and more relaxed", "all my muscles are relaxed", etc etc.
𖥔 02. — Usually I don't get to a hundred, so when I'm like "wait, what number was I on?" I visualise myself as something (NOT my DRself) – usually like a ball of energy, but it can be a fire, a body of water, a galaxy etc etc. For example with water – I visualise myself as a little creek, trying to FEEL how I'm the water with my my whole soul
𖥔 03. — Some time later I can't really feel my body but it still feels like I'm floating? I don't know how to explain it, but after some time I realise that I'm there, in the void. Ta-da!
And that's probably it? So here's some stuff that probably helped me:
𖥔 01. — 𝑻𝒉𝒆 "𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒍" 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒆.
Yes I'm srs, every time I think I'm getting stressed or anxious I mentally pull out the "HIGH CORTISOL⚠️!!!" image and it instantly calms me down. That's probably relevant cuz stressing lowers your vibrations and stuff.. I also stole this idea
𖥔 02. — 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
I know a good portion of people hate meditating but let me tell you how useful it was
𖥔 03. — 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒐𝒘??
At first I started meditating for like 5 mins a day, maybe more if I felt generous. I have crippling ADHD, so it was one hell of a battle.. All I did was prolong my meditating sessions from time to time, and I just got "better" at it? Now it doesn't really require effort and I almost literally enter FLOW STATE.
Hey.. thank you for bearing with me!! Hope tht this was helpful ♡
I was just mindlessly scrolling and stumbled upon a post. In the comments, @throwawayyyyyyyyyyy111111 has pasted a link to a 230+ pages Google doc which they had created and pilled in majority of @hrrtshape (deactivated) posts/asks. Personally, I don't know this blogger since i only joined tumblr in march this year but yeah I was curious, im always curious so i searched the link up immediately.
I read the first page AND I FEEL LIKE EVERY SHIFTER NEEDS TO READ THIS! I know the doc is very very long.. but I think it's quite worth it if you're doubting shifting or just unable to shift.
I will try to finish the whole doc today yippieee. Also big thank you to @throwawayyyyyyyyyyy111111 ❤️
i am not a buddhist nor a Hindu myself. I am a practicing Orthodox Christian. But when it comes to searching for shifting /loa /manifesting /spiritualism? i'll take whatever i can find. Now look, these ancient teachings don't have a magic wand that says "lets just jump in there" ,but they do have a pretty powerful "shortcuts" that will instantly plunge the mind into that void. Specifically, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, the esoteric branch of Hinduism, offers 112 different methods for instantly stopping the mind and pushing it into that void.
First of all, ''the space between two breathes'' (Kumbhaka) In buddhism and hinduism, the greatest secret is that microscopic moment when one breath ends but another doesn't begin. That moment is when you disconnect from this world. And yeah it has an easy way.. breathe in, breathe out. Stop at the exact second u exhale. Focus on the silence that occurs when your lungs are empty. That void is actually your shifting gateway. The longer you prolong those seconds, the more your physical body begins to fade away. And oh, also, be careful and start SLOW. Cause If u do it incorrectly or forcefully, you may experience dizziness, stress, or even fainting...
Second thing ive found is.. "Neither this nor that" (Advaita Vedanta) That is the fastest way to eliminate the mind (the logical left lobe of ur brain). In shifting, every time you say, "i am this, i am here," you are anchored to that reality. Lie down in bed and say to everything that crosses your mind that; Is your body tingling? "nope that's not me." or did you hear a sound? "that's not me." did a thought come to ur mind? "that's not me." Basically reject everything until nothing remains. That remaining pure "awareness" is the void itself... What remains? According to Vedanta, the unchanging, observing pure awareness. That is, the inner, "observing thing." They call it Atman, and surprisingly, it is said to be the same as Brahman. So, individual self = universal reality. Non duality? it's easy to understand, but quite difficult to live with. cause the mind is constantly addicted to labeling itself, saying "this is who i am, this is what i am." it's like stripping the mind bare, leaving it completely exposed. You shed layers upon layers. And the human ego doesn't exactly love that, mind you...
Now ''Dharana'', think of the discipline of The Hierophant card. Instead of dividin the mind into a thousand pieces, confining it to a single point allows reality to break...Close your eyes and focus only on that point between your eyebrows, aka the 3rd eye, or just a single white spot in your mind. Think of nothing else. After a while, the mind will give a "system error" and throw you back into that single point, into the void. Dharana, in yoga, means concentration. But not at the level of "alrigh i put my phone down and focused for 5 minutes." It means literally fixing your mind on a single object. Thr rule is lowkey simple.. If the mind wanders, u bring it back. If it wanders again, you bring it back again. ''Dharana'' focus, ''Dhyana'' uninterrupted flow, meditation; ''Samadhi'' complete union, dissolution of the sense of "self"....
The easiest way to do this is actually to "stop searching." Theres a saying in buddhism that "as long as you keep searching, you won't find, because the seeker is what she seeks." You think shifting is about going somewhere "out there," but these teachings say, "Youre already everywhere, you just choose to focus on this body." Stop "trying to go." Try relinquishing this reality as if you were already there. By releasing the energy of the 4 Pentacles aka the holding on energy, and 9 Wands, in your cards, and simply "being" like The Sun, that door will open by itself.
More 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 techniques 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬.
Heyyy this was super wanted, more void state techniques from ancient Buddhism/Hinduism. These teachings are super old, traditional and quite literally mystique. These teachings are SERIOUS business. Do not take them lightly. Approach with respect, caution, by that i mean, begin slowly and mindfully, these stuff might put you in a state that DEEPER than void. I recommend you do your own research, if you're interested. Now all these settled.. First let us start with Unmani Mudra, that's a practice in the yoga and tantra tradition that signifies a "state beyond the mind." The word "unmani," literally, means "suspension of the mind " or "absence of the mind / cessation of the mind." But this isn't about the brain shutting down, it's more about the calming of the flow of thoughts, the interruption of that constant inner monologue.
The practical part is as follows, that the eyes are generally half open, the gaze is directed slightly upwards or between the eyebrows (called ajna point). (Also related to Shambhavi Mudra), But you're not trying to focus, quite the opposite, it's like an "empty gaze." Breathing is calm, the body is relaxed. But the main thing is not the physical pose, but the mental state. The goal is to let thoughts fade away without fighting them. ALSOOOO, in practice, the goal isn't concentration. Most people fail here. They look at Ajna and think, "i'll focus, i'll hold it." Wrong. That's not dharana. Unmani is the dissolution of even focusing, close to Samadhi. So there's attention, but not "attention locked onto something." The mind normally operates through vritti (thought waves). In Unmani, these waves are not suppressed; they extinguish themselves. Therefore, it's again lowkey similar to Patanjali's "citta vritti nirodha," but the method is different, there is no forced stopping, only non intervention.
Second technique that might help getting in void state is, Ajapa Japa. That is a method of hypnotizing the mind with its own rhythm and then suddenly pulling that rhythm away. Ajapa japa literally means "non repetitive repetition." Yes, it sounds deliberately a bit confusing i know, Normal japa is consciously repeating the mantra. In ajapa, the repetition happens spontaneously. You don't force it it just happens. A classic example is, breath. Its said that the "so" sound is naturally produced when inhaling and the "ham" sound when exhaling. "So ham" is the mantra, meaning "i am that." You don't force urself to say it,you just become aware of it. After a while, the mantra begins to flow automatically with ur breath. At first, ure somewhat consciously aware of it. Then, at some point, the feeling of, "im repeating myself" subsides. The mantra is working in the background and ure just a witness. That's the stage called ajapa.
Ajapa is a more "gentle" method, u don't just jump straight into the void, you first get into a rhythm. That's why it's lowkey more sustainable for most people..i think? At some point, even the mantra gets ''unnecessary'', cause the mental place it takes u to is already beyond the mantra. There is no repetition there, no effort or whatsoever. Long stroy short, listen to the natural "So" sound as you inhale and the "Hammm" sound as you exhale (the hamsa mantra) in ur mind. Continue this for a while, completely capturing ur mind in this rhythm. At the moment ure completely immersed in the rhythm, hold your breath for a pretty short time and suddenly stop the mantra. Your mind will want to continue that rhythm, but cause to the pause, it will fall into a "void." That moment of falling is your gateway.
Like i said, this post was so wanted, im not a Hindu/Buddhist myself but i respect these two beliefs' ancient shifting/void state related teachings and i share what i find in my researches. if im wrong with something, u can write in the comments!!! You can also do your own research, I RECOMMEND IT, thanks, have an awesome meditative time!! 🐇💋🪷
No I'm not gonna tell y'all what is void and how it works and all, we all know it better than we know ourselves cause we've been wasting our time and energy on collecting every bits of information on void rather than actually going within yourself and finding what's best for you...
Anyways let's come to the method and it's GENUINELY nothing but just the basic spiritual law
"Whatever you persist in you'll see more of" OR "whatever you think dominantly is going to be reflected in the 3d"
First of all make the decision rn that you're someone who enters/wakes up in the void state easily and you never have to struggle for it it's just so easy and effortless for you, you can enter void on command ( however you wanna tell yourself )
Now choose any affirmation regarding void that you wanna use, most used ones are :-
1.) I can easily enter the void state
2.) I always wake up in the void
3.) it is so easy for me to enter the void
4.) I am void
And many more that you can use
Now I want you to pick ONE and just loop it, that's it, nothing more
Why loop it? Cause affirming is just thinking and you're thinking anyways and it's honestly better than wasting your time spiraling about how you can't enter the void
Now just affirm as much as you can, why? Cause that's the method!! Saturation ( repetition )
The more you'll affirm the easier it'll get and then you'll naturally reach a point where it's all so easy for you, you won't even care about void anymore cause you'll be in that steady state of someone who already woke up in the void and has it all ( it'll come with repetition so just keep affirming even if it feels forced or unnatural at first )
for night time :-
For night it's the most important time I ain't letting you sleep in that misery anymore
You're first going to set the intention to enter/wake up in the void
Secondly you're going to command you subconscious ( the way you do when you have to wake up early and you say it yourself 3-4 times and then sleep trusting your subconscious to do it for you ) to wake you up in the void ( how you wanna command it )
At last just affirm your selected affirmation from above until you fall asleep ( which is basically lullaby method/SATS )
And in the morning right after you wake up you're going to freaking saturate your mind with your affirmation!! You are not going to complain how you didn't enter it on first night or anything NO YOU'RE GOING TO AFFIRM ANYWAYS
And now I want you to stay consistent with this everyday every night and then come back with your success stories!!
( yep you can listen to your recorded affirmations, you can listen to your subliminal playlists do whatever you want the point is SATURATION and not thinking against it )
For those who spiral and stress out a lot? Instead of flipping it or dwelling on it just start affirming to feel grounded and to get you out of that dwelling
( SPOILER ALERT :- AFFIRMING IS NOT A METHOD IT'S JUST THINKING )
(ii) ⋆ spiritual breakdown on how to "actually use" awake methods effectively.
firstly, i’d like to thank everyone for the great feedback i received on the my last post i made about how to use "actually use" awake methods, based on research i came across while learning about deep meditation and altered states of consciousness. and like i mentioned in my last post, i’m doing a follow-up to explain the full diagram and how you can use it to be more effective when practicing awake methods.
disclaimer(s): before i do a deep dive into how to “actually use” awake methods, backed by a spiritual interpretation from rudolf steiner’s esoteric teachings, i want to clarify that i’m putting “actually use” in quotes for a reason because there isn’t a black-and-white way to approach shifting. shifting is deeply personal and spiritual (imo). everything i’m sharing here is simply what i’ve found through my own research, shadow work, and inner reflection, including tarot, which resonated strongly with me and helped me feel confident enough to share this. my hope is that it supports others in their own shifting journey. i also want to make it clear that my approach to shifting is completely spiritual. i don’t really see it as something scientific, i experience it more as a spiritual practice. so everything i share here is coming from that spiritual perspective, not from the science side of shifting.
this is going to be a lengthy post!
this diagram comes from rudolf steiner’s esoteric teachings, and it maps out the stages that lead outward from ordinary, day-to-day consciousness to the early stages of meditation, and eventually into the deepest level of meditation, what many people in the community call the "void state". it also goes past the void state into what’s described as higher, more advanced stages of spiritual abundance, ending in the telos stage, where you’re fully detached from the physical body and exist purely as your subconsciousness. this can be connected to shifting as an almost "goldilocks” stage, where you’re no longer tied to this reality and can access your desired reality through simple affirming, because doubt and ego have been bypassed and you’re fully in that subconscious void.
so how do we reach that?
let me explain each point across the diagram so we can have a understanding of how we can achieve each stage and then eventually telos.
day-to-day consciousness is basically where we are right now, our original reality, what we can perceive, see, and feel through our five senses. it’s the stage we’re in before we decide to shift from our usual, everyday waking world.
i (3.4.1) . . when you choose to use an awake method and lie down to start meditating, you enter the activation stage almost immediately. this is where you begin closing off your awareness from your original reality. by shutting your eyes and settling into meditation, you start withdrawing that external focus, even if it’s only a few minutes in, just breathing with the intention of pulling your awareness inward. from a shifting perspective, i see this as simply setting the intention, closing your eyes and knowing, “ok, i’m going to try to shift.” that’s the activation: you’ve made the decision, set the intent, and now you’re moving into meditation.
ii (3.4.2) . . this is where things start to matter. if you’re doing methods like the julia method for example, where you don’t use shifting or grounding affirmations until after you’ve entered the void state, you’ll naturally reach the abyss stage just by meditating without affirming to shift yet. this is the part where you’re simply in meditation—no complications, just a deep, calm state. not the deepest level yet, but you’re settled. you’re not fully focused on shifting yet; you’re focused on getting calm enough to shift. and i want to reiterate: this isn’t the stage where you’re affirming to shift yet. you’re not doing grounding or shifting affirmations here. you’re just calm, just meditating. that’s why there’s no “complications” in this stage, because you’re not pushing intention into anything yet. your body is still settling, and you’ve already moved past activation. for example, with the julia method, this is like the “i am” phase, where you’re repeating simple “i am” affirmations and staying calm. this will make more sense when i explain the encounter stage.
iii (3.4.3) . . this is the stage i think a lot of people end up giving up at, and it’s what perhaps makes their awake method attempt "unsuccessful". it won’t apply to every situation, but it’s what i noticed in my own experience. the encounter stage is what you reach after you’ve been in meditation for a bit and you start using shifting affirmations and genuinely intending that you’re somewhere else. for example, with the julia method, this could be when you move into identity affirmations or five senses affirmations—where you begin rewriting the reality you’re in. you’re affirming a new room, a new identity, new friends, a new environment. you’re actively shaping things and beginning the shift.
from my personal experience, i’d usually be meditating for at least half an hour before i reached the point where i felt like, alright, i’m calm enough. i don’t really feel my room as much, my body feels lighter, and i’m less aware of it overall. i feel ready to start affirming that i’m in my desired reality, so i begin the affirmations. and this is exactly where my attempts would stop for years. YEARS. i get this urge to open my eyes disappointed. i begin to feel my cr bed more. i feel a wave of dissatisfaction and frustration. and what really happens is that you encounter the ego. because you’re intending to shift, and you’re essentially challenging your sense of reality in the physical world, it can trigger a kind of survival response. your physical mind/body reads that “no identity” or “new identity” state as a threat, and it tries to pull you back to what’s familiar, back to what you’ve been conditioned to believe, because that feels safe. in spiritual teachings, this can also be described as the guardian. because shifting is something we aren't conditioned to believe in this reality, it pushes against the belief systems we’ve been taught alike the idea that: "we only have one life" and that "we’re only this physical body", it could also be your own insecurities about shifting e.g. "this isn't working" or "this is taking too long." and when you start spiritually expanding beyond that, you can run into what’s called the ego, or the guardian. this literally means you’re right at the door of shifting about to break through into a higher state of consciousness. it’s like a reflex meant to pull you back to what’s familiar and comfortable. that’s why it's called "the guardian" or "the ego at the door": because the moment you begin to move beyond it, all those ingrained “safe” beliefs and automatic thoughts in your subconscious push up in response.
whenever you reach this stage and you give in to those thoughts, or you start feeding them energy, it pulls you straight back into normal waking consciousness. everything starts to unravel. what you should do instead, when you reach this point, is alchemise. that doesn’t mean fighting the thoughts, because fighting them just fuels them. it means staying in meditation. when the urge hits, recognise what it actually is: a sign that you’re close. it means you’re approaching the door, and your subconscious is trying to drag you back to what feels familiar and safe. focus on your breath. try counting. the feeling usually comes in waves, it rises, fades, then returns. and each time you breathe through it and stay calm, it comes back quieter, less intense, and with longer stretches of calm before it returns. it’s definitely easier said than done, but i genuinely believe this is the stage where owning your power matters most, your ability to shift, and the strength of your intention. it can feel intense and even really demotivating, but this is where you start rewiring your mind to persist instead of pulling back.
iv (3.5) . . eventually, you reach what’s referred to as the telos stage. telos translates to the ultimate aim or end purpose, the final cause behind an action. this is the stage where i believe i and you hit the prime mindset shift. your doubts have quietened down, and you’re in a state of pure consciousness that’s open to affirmation, you withdraw effort. at this point, identity affirmations tend to “stick” more because there’s no resistance, this is essentially the void state or adjacent to the hypnagogic state. and from here, you can begin affirming in a way that brings you back into day-to-day awareness, but in your reality of choice instead. your desired reality. and now without hesitation or pushback, you have full access to your desired reality through intention and affirmation.
v final thoughts?
in terms of whether this theory has actually been effective for me, and whether i’ve shifted: yes. i started looking into this in the first place because whenever i did shift, it usually happened in these strange half-asleep, half-awake phases—like when i’d get pulled out of a dream and end up in that black, in-between space where i could feel my spiritual body floating. those shifts fell into a few types for me: one where i was fully grounded, and two where i could physically feel my desired reality, like i sort of was half in and half out. that’s what pushed me to research this more deeply, and it’s also why this is the approach i mostly follow now. but again, it’s so individual, shifting is extremely personal, and what works for me comes from my own reflection and my own decision to step back from a lot of shifttok and social media communities. you really do have to do your own research and let it become your own journey.
hopefully this resonates with anyone and is of good help!
Me when I shifted and realised I had to experience horrors beyond human comprehension before meeting my hot chad mogger ethereal alt rock boyfriend AND experience 15 years of slowburn
Shifting for the mundane things is underrated tbh. Forget the extravagant shit, I’m shifting to eat food, shifting to crack , shifting to make friends, shifting to watch new shows, shifting to wear new clothes etc etc.
That’s the stuff I’m looking forward to the most tbh
