bruce banner had the most badass moment in avengers 2012. he mopeds through a city under attack by an alien invasion, just to reveal to a bunch of super hero strangers that he’s so much more dangerous than they thought, not because he doesn’t have control of the hulk, but he does? that HE’S always angry??? he could have turned into the hulk at any moment once he got into nyc, but he waits until he reaches them just to prove a point and turn instantly into a rage monster right in front of their eyes???????? that they feared him for all the wrong reasons, but hell, they should be glad to see him? “that’s my secret, cap. I’m always angry” ????? That shit holds up!!!!!!!!!

i need to shut up about Professor Hulk, I know, but LISTEN

it could have worked if Prof was only there for the 3rd act of the movie.

The first two acts would be us SEEING the bruce/hulk banter. Bruce is Bruce up to the time travel part, then Hulk comes out, but based on his development from Ragnarok, we know he’s not some bumblit ng monster, so he can take direction during the Time Heist. Hulk meets up with the Ancient One, she does the astral projection thing and Bruce comes out and sees Hulk’s body. Great.

The merge doesn’t happen until it’s time to put on the Iron Glove Gauntlet with all the stones. Bruce becomes Hulk to put it on, but the merge occurs while the glove is on. So in physicality, it appears as though it’s Hulk, but after everyone is brought back, they hear Hulk talk with Bruce’s voice. 

Prof goes into the big battle and all that. THIS is when we see Prof for the rest of the movie. But ONLY during the third act and the aftermath. 

TL;DR: Bruce is Bruce through most of the movie, Hulk comes out a couple times, the merge storyline is still there, but we only see Prof for the 3rd act, because it is the Merge that allows Prof/Bruce to bring everyone back with the stones.
