Karl never seizes to amaze me with shows from Chanel and the ready-to-wear show for spring/summer 2016 is no exception. Karl recreated an airport scene where models walk around in style in the Chanel No*5 Gate. What a fabulous idea! Now its no surprise why Karl is head of chanel, but the revolutionary tweeds, textiles, sunglasses, and accesories knock it out of the park yet again.

Now, the show opens with male models with roll luggage, like I die! Then out comes the opening look which is personally one of my favorites from the entire collection.
I love the huge plaid printed tweed and the necklace, lets get real its amazing! Strong opener for the show for sure! Who doesn’t want some Chanel luggage?
There are some amazing metallics, plaids, and bold prints that bring these garments to life! One print that stood out was this adorable airplane print. Now its very junior upon first inspection but after a second look, I’m in love! (not that I needed the second look, I loved it from the start) Who doesnt like an adorable and whimsical airplane print?
Its just the right amount of young and old to make this look fresh and clean. Throughout the show I get the impression that this airport is very comfortable and easy going which is not what I normally would think of when I think of airports. The sandles were definitely a miss with me, but adding the casual impression is the tied jackets and sweaters around many of the looks. I remember as a child that this is something I would do as it got hot but I had nowhere to leave my jacket. Leave it to Karl to make this stylish and comfortable - the classic Chanel way.
Now, as the show progressed, I must saw that textures and prints began to shift dramatically, but so much in a good way. We move away from the simple yet classic jackets and suits and step more into dresses. The above dress is by far the best dress from the entire collection. I am always a fan of completely see through but completely covered - like what? And these sunglasses are a must and are definitely on my wishlist for this coming spring and summer seasons. The look is completed with a great belt to bring in all the colume going on here.
The next subgroup to walk out is what I like to call bowler hat derby! I’m obsessed!
These hats are just superb and again with the sunglasses.This clean jacket is perfect for this airport scenario.
Disregard the horrible sandles (at least those are my thoughts...) and look at this innovative print. I love that its actually plane schedules. A few looks came out in this print and I was blown away with it. Very chic and modern yet comfortable silouhette. The belt brings in all the flow and volume and the sunglasses add to the easy going impression. I don’t exactly know how to feel about the backwards baseball cap but overall it does add to the styling of the look. Another favorite of mine, again, from the ankles up.
The last subgroup of the show were these amazing metallic knits adorned with ribbons at seams. This was very structural and the leather skirt/pant combo added to the lux of the look. I really love this top and wish there was a man version of this...maybe this is something that will inspire me to make a man version, SOLD!
So, Karl does it yet again with Chanel Spring/Summer RTW 2016. The show was balanced with structured and flowing silouhettes. From solid to complex prints and tweeds. This show is definitely one for the books and will be keeping people thinking for and waiting for what Chanel comes out with next!
