@bsoulstone
It's my 7 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
I noticed that in your stories, typically fantasy, you associate characteristics and/or virtues to the characters; in The Seer there are: Hope, Courage, Loyality, Strength and Determination; while in The Guardians of Unity there are: Strength, Knowledge and Life. 1) How do you choose these virtues for the characters? 2) According to you, which can be "negative" characteristics and/or virtues? 3) Which virtues would you choose for the Gravity Falls's characters? (Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Ford etc.)
1) I do research on the characters and learn their personalities. That makes it easier for me to narrow things down.2) greed, selfishness, jealousy or envy, the list goes on. Though virtues tend to be positive. Flaws are important though, so you should always make sure there is something like that in every character. No one is perfect.3) I don’t choose virtues like that right off the bat. I make sure I understand a character before choosing something. A better example would be how I sorted Mabel and Dipper in their Hogwarts houses (courage, ambition). But those were the only places I did something with the characters. The other characters aren’t as important in that AU for me to find them a virtue.

Otakon Trigger live drawing thread with Yoh Yoshinari and Hiromi Wakabayashi.Otakon Trigger live drawing thread with Yoh Yoshinari and Hiromi Wakabayashi (@waka_geek)! Stay tuned for any interesting drawings or tidbits.
And of course the one and only @Trigger_Tattun is translating. He asked whether the audience wants to see Yoshinari draw Edgerunners, BNA, or Little Witch Academia. Little Witch won in a landslide. Very few votes for Edgerunners.
Looks like Akko is wearing David's jacket from Edgerunners! Cute.
Wakabayashi: Trigger usually has complete control for their works. They're like Judge Dredd: "I am the law." But with Cyberpunk Edgerunners that's not the case.
Yoshinari: part of the reason a lot of Trigger's mecha look a little "organic" and "flexible" is that he worked on Eva, where the robots aren't really robots and have more organic elements.
Yoshinari: Imaishi's works are laser-targeted to specific types of fans, so in a way he hoped to bring him to a wider audience via Little Witch Academia.
Yoshinari on the lighting in Edgerunners vs. Ninja Slayer (my question): He watched Amemiya's Ninja Slayer and said "I can do that better."
Wakabayashi: The Mad Burnish armor in Promare is based on a biker gang in America, and their helmets are based on motocross. They also based them off of Fujin and Raijin from Japanese folklore (specifically wrt the number of horns they have).
Wakabayashi on Inferno Cop: You guys supported Amemiya's Gridman "a little too much" so now everyone involved is too busy. They're looking for new talent to direct the series.
They have designs for S2. It'll feature Hellfire Boy in his teens. He'll be called "Hellfire Kid."
Animator Kai Ikarashi is "an odd one." He researches older animators.
Asked about working on Star Wars and any other franchises they're interested in, Wakabayashi says he'd love to work on Fast and the Furious. Would love to see Imaishi direct something in the franchise. (Me too!)
In response to multiple requests for advice from aspiring artists, Wakabayashi repeatedly stressed consuming a diverse media diet. "Don't only watch anime."
And to wrap it all up, here's Yoshinari's art. Akko has a gun!

Thread about #LWA_jp talk show on 23/06 with the Director and other creators of the series, interviewed after the screening of the last ep.
I attended with a friend and decided I’d type up as much as I could remember since some of this stuff was worth telling everyone about. The people interviewed were:
Han Megumi (Akko’s VA)
Yoshinari You (Director)
Handa Shuuhei (Char. Designer)
Tsutsumi Naoko (A. Producer)
The first questions, how they felt after the end and about Chariot.
Answering some questions from Twitter.
About Akko and Andrew. I think they cleared up any misunderstandings the fans might've had.
About writing the characters.
About their trip to England.
What they wanted to express through the series.
This isn't by any means everything they talked about but I've done what I could from memory, they talked for about half an hour.
We received this animation sheet(?) printed on an envelope and animation cel before going in. The cel was different for everyone.
This is the ticket, the screening was for episodes 22-25 in TOHO Cinemas in Shinjuku. The artists for the OP/ED performed them too.
They were both crying by the end along with Akko's VA, overall a really emotional performance.
Finally I've got to say I am really grateful I was able to attend such a wonderful event, gotta thank @AldreCV for being there with me too!
Alternate scenarios and other ideas originally for abandoned Harry Potter fanfic remake
Back around 2022, a friend of mine in Discord revealed a group where its members may brainstormed ideas they would probably use if given the opportunity to write, well, some sort of fan fic reboot of Harry Potter series. While supposedly faithful to original version by J.K. Rowling in many respects, certain aspects would likely be expanded and/or altered, partly because some stuff in canon didn't age very well and other factors. In fact, the reason my pal joined or created the group was to express resentments over Rowling's recent controversies (from what I heard, it's about against trans people, which was rather ironic because Harry Potter showed us horrors and desolation bigotry could possibly bring to the world as much as Marvel's X-Men and BNA: Brand New Animal), to put it mildly. I on the other hand, joined mostly because when looking back at that series, I couldn't help but wonder whether certain stuff in Harry Potter canon more interesting if played differently. Unsure of others' motivations to join the group, though.
Anyways, the group unfortunately ceased its activities some time after its establishment. Everyone got focused by other things and my friend now occupied by other things to continue what all of us started. Luckily, it wasn't before we managed to discuss a couple of ideas:
1. James Potter as Order of the Phoenix's exemplary member.
If memory serves, my fellow discord group members suspected that Rowling's gender essentialism explained why Lily Potter was a bit too overrated. It's true Lily's sacrifice in protecting Harry ensured Lord Voldemort's first downfall and Harry becoming famous but, whenever Harry's parents were mentioned by their friends among Order of the Phoenix members, Lily kinda mentioned more often than James. Whatever the case, it gave me an idea of Harry's dad being truly as important as Lily within the order: While Dumbledore being the only one who could match Lord Voldemort in strength during his time, James inspired hope to everyone through his courage and leadership skills, not only effectively made him a role model for some of his peers such as Sirius Black and Dedalus Diggle, but also allowed the Order of the Phoenix to maintain a common ground in the fight against Death Eaters throughout First Wizarding War as much as Dumbledore despite the Order being outnumbered. What motivated him to live up such role being of course, to make up the guilt from his days as a bully. When Harry founded Dumbledore's Army years later, he unknowingly emulated his late father that, coupled with the form of his Patronus matching James' own, making the Boy Who Lived the second coming of James Potter in some respect.
2. Wormtail being more bitter and less cowardly.
Perhaps because of his surprising capability to do evil, or seeing fictional characters who just as meek and cowardly as him outside yet bitter and malicious inside such as Colin Weasler from The Mummy animated series, I couldn't help but wonder whether it would be interesting if he had changed into a different person the Marauder knew rather than continued being meek as with in canon:
Even with his best efforts and support from his fellow Marauders and had potential to do so to the boot, Peter Pettigrew could never keep up with them in terms of talents, no matter what he did. The feelings of inferiority and envy toward his more talented friends embittered Pettigrew, forging a latent desire to become more than mere hanger-on among his peers. Sadly, this brought him to the dark path reminiscent to the one Quirinus Quirrell would later take. When Voldemort coerced him for the whereabouts of James and Lily, the dark lord noticed Pettigrew's obsession thus manipulated him by promised him power in exchange of switching sides. Fearful for his life yet tempted at the same time upon remembering his unacknowledged desire for importance, Pettigrew made up his mind to betray his friends.
From there on, the shy and insecure Wormtail became much more confident and ruthless, aggressive and bitter even. He even discovered his affinity with Dark Arts along the way, further helping him in outgrowing his insecurities. When Sirius confronted him for his betrayal at last, he was shocked to see how much Pettigrew changed to the worst; as if his lack of hesitation to use Blasting Curse to kill nearby muggles who unfortunate to be caught in their duel, Sirius found himself subdued by his former friend's Cruciatus Curse. At that time, however, Wormtail had a sliver of remorse over his betrayal and change that not only he let Sirius go despite having a chance to finish him off, but also went in hiding as Scabbers, showing his resolve to be with Voldemort was shaky at best. It took him being finally exposed by both Remus and Sirius that he made up his mind and stayed on Voldemort's side, believing that he already at a point of no return.
3. Sirius taking in Harry instead of Dursleys.
Now this idea intrigued me most. One of my fellow discord group members proposed an idea where Sirius became Harry's adoptive father, which perhaps inspired by Sirius' intent to do so in the canon proper. We haven't discuss much about its but, he has Hagrid and Lupin helping him out in raising The Boy Who Lived.
4. Marauder is also a band akin to Weird Sisters.
Another idea that caught my attention was Marauders being not just pranksters, but also a band like Weird Sisters. I haven't discuss much with them about this concept but, with James and Wormtail gone, the group is no longer active like it used to at best.
As of why I decided to make this post, let's just say because I wanted to and ideas I shared here had gathered dust long enough. Unsure of either me or others in the discord group are mind if someone decided to use them for their fics one way or another. It's not like this work is copyrighted anyway.
What are your thoughts? I understand very well that changing and/or expanding certain parts in Harry Potter series through a fanfic remake we planned but never realized in the end would create a story which much more different than Harry Potter canon we know and love. I believed the others in our discord group knew this as well. Criticism is welcome as long as you are not being rude about it (if you don't like it, this post is perhaps not for you).
That's all.
P.S.: I believed I made a similar post on the other day but, I had to rewrite it through the input from my pal. Plus, I chose not to reveal the name of our group cuz some would find it not so appropriate. Trust me.
There are other ideas I'd like to share but, this will do for this post.

"The Dark Sorcerer glared angrily at the Seer and transformed his wand into a Sceptre, nearly identical to that of the Seer's; the only main difference was that the orb on the Staff was red. There were symbols printed all over the rod, which glowed in red like the orb did. A snakehead was holding the orb in place—the giant sphere was sitting in its mouth—with gleaming red eyes. Two dagger-like hooks curved towards the orb, and lightening-like energy pulsed from one point of one hook to the other."
— Description of Death Sceptre from The Seer Book 3 Part 2, Chapter 26
Just an attempt to draw Death Sceptre, Dark Sorcerer's magic staff from The Seer, a 3-book length fantasy fanfiction series written by KicsterAsh which can be read here (I used archive link in case of something happen to the series' deviantart site):
https://web.archive.org/web/20250518113353/https://www.deviantart.com/pnf-the-seer/gallery/29467910/the-seer-fanfiction
Of course, I took a handful of liberties in the design, notably the snake head being modeled after rattlesnake and symbols on the rod being Anglo-Saxon Futhark inscriptions transliterated into the sentence "Ultimate power", "To dominate all life in Cantoria and beyond", "Within darkness".
The Seer (c) @imaginashon
Almudron palamute armor in Monster Hunter Rise.
"The Entity" is the first and most powerful organism in our planet's history. It has witnessed and regulated every era of life on this planet. When the earth population becomes rather unruly, it intervenes; breaking out of its usual dormant state to initiate a rather brutal regulation process. The Entity transfers all of its energy into a small embryotic form, lying in wait for an unsuspecting creature to devour it.
Upon being consumed, the assimilation process begins and the entity mutates its host into a giant titanic organism; "Gojira" as it has been referred to in modern times. Throughout earth's lifespan, The Gojiras have been responsible for most of earth's extinction events, the greatest of which was caused by one known as "Primordius" from the Permian/Triassic era. The monsters pollute the atmosphere sending down toxic rain and fog that poison at most 90% of life.
The one known failed instance of a Gojira Level Event was set during the late cretaceous period when the subject known as "Penultimus" was struck by an asteroid before it could fully initiate the extinction process
While the process of mutation takes roughly a few centuries to complete, due to scientific medaling, subject "Proximus" underwent scientific experimentation. The result of which caused the animal to mutate into a Gojira within a week while also creating a rather...unorthodox extinction event.
