As we all know how VERY meticulous (an understatement really) Laurent is, Im just deadly certain that one of those twig snaps is on purpose just to see the tense reactions of the whole group (what a devil) and the other one is when he snaps an apricot for damen
drinking the sunlight
Laurent who excels at speaking and gets his way through convoluted discourse for the whole 3 books ends the trilogy with him gallantly fighting kastor with a sword
Damen who is the strongest all around fighter and dignified soldier in the whole trilogy ends it with him talking his way through to save laurent and defeat the regent
Peak fiction me thinks
Auguste was in the middle of a strategy meeting with his father (with the sand table between them)
when they somehow cant figure out how to solve a problem efficiently with little to no wastes in military resources when auguste sees 10 yr old laurent passing the room carrying his favorite book
thats when auguste doesnt even hesitate to call his younger brother to come join their discussion
their father initially disapproves of this but then auguste waves this away and is like itll be fineee
When laurent joins the table auguste explains the dilemma and is like what do u think and
laurents like whats in it for me?? With a childish smile
Auguste then says “a full day with me doing anything u like”
Laurent with a twinkle in his eyes: sparring, chess and racing against me?
Auguste with his brilliant grin: anything u like
Laurent pretends to think about it but in the end says DEAL!
Laurent then just stares at the sand table for a mere 5 seconds
Then a short back and forth from him to auguste for clarifications
Laurent nods as if he has come to a decision
Then outlines a fcking detailed plan like no other
Their father blinks in surprise at wtf just happened
Then auguste nods understanding his younger bros plan then smiles proudly at him
He ruffles laurents hair (he fucking adores him bitch)
Then laurent walking away says u better not chicken out on me on the race
Augustes like ur ryt ur fast little pony is intimidating
Laurent sticks out his tongue skipping walking away clutching his book while his bro grins at his beloved younger bro
and u cant tell me otherwise
