Let's talk about one of the coolest things ever!!! → the Kavachi volcano (aka Sharkcano)
The Kavachi volcano is a submarine volcano located in the Solomon Islands. Submarine volcanos are underwater vents in the earths surface where magma can erupt. This creates an incredibly hot, acidic, and low oxygen environment.

In 2015, scientists investigated the crater and found something wild: sharks.
LIVING. INSIDE. THE VOLCANO.
Specifically, silky sharks and scalloped hammerheads.

While there are some theories of how these guys have adapted to this environment, scientists remain uncertain about how they manage to thrive in this hellscape.
Fun facts about lemon sharks ✨
Lemon sharks get their name from their yellowish skin, which helps them camouflage with sandy seabeds. This allows for them to sneak up on prey.
Lemon sharks grow to be about 9 to 10 ft long.
They live for about 25 to 30 years.
You'll find these guys chilling in mangroves and coral reefs.
Lemon sharks are viviparous, meaning they give birth to live young.
These sharks are incredibly social and are often found swimming in groups.
Lemon sharks aren't aggressive toward humans; in fact, there have been no recorded deaths from a lemon shark attack.

Shark species shown: Greenland Sharks!
Don't bully them :(
Have you ever wondered why small fish are often seen swimming with sharks?
These small fish, such as remoras and pilot fish, have a mutual relationship with sharks. These guys gain protection from predators because sharks are large and intimidating. The fish help the shark by eating parasites and leftover food from its body and mouth.
Remoras in particular, have a special suction disc on their heads that allows them to latch onto the shark’s skin.

Pilot fish, on the other hand, swim alongside sharks.

I hope this was somewhat informative (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
GUYS NEW SHARK JUST DROPPED
Well, technically it's not new : it's a nurse shark. What's new, however, is that it's the first xanthic (imagine albinism but in yellow) nurse shark ever found !! Not only it's not common AT ALL to find fishes with xanthism (it's the first cartilagenous fish ever recorded with this type of genetic "anomally"), but if it's there and still existing as an adult, it means the species is chill-ish with other predators (it probably would have been eaten by then). Its eyes are white so it can also be a form of albinism, in addition to xanthism !!!!!
And most of all : ITS SO CUTE !! AND IT'S SUCH A COOL FIND !!
Please if a marine biologist or someone with more info can interact with this post to feed me some more info or correct me on wrong infos i'e given I'd love it !
(Also if you have pics of animals with xanthism, it's also very appreciated!!)
