hear me out for a(nother) LOTF movie
but guys hold on it's noir and sepia photography
assuming that movie follows along decently with the book, the movie opens B&W with the scar and crash. Viewers are introduced to our main character Ralph, and then yellow is introduced to the B&W, really the only thing standing out his hair
This continues until the choir is introduced, which would include Jack and Simon, and introducing more colors to the B&W. Simon has green (since I hc that his eyes are green) and obviously Jack is red. Again, only his hair stands out, and it's really just Simon, Jack, and Ralph with color, the rest is still B&W
The trio explores around the island like in the book, and when they get onto the top of the mountain, the three colors are introduced to the rest of the world, including other characters
From now on until further chapters these three colors appear quite often. (Also forgot to mention that the red yellow and green color scheme is supposed to a reference to the newest(?) book cover where there's really only green, yellow, and red on it)
A notible mention is that despite the full color explosion (or whatever) and the color is shared throughout, Roger is the only one who stays B&W, despite Jack putting on the hunter mask and what not. this is supposed to show the "dark nature of humanity" or what not, considering hat Roger is the least empathetic of all the boys
When Simon gets introduced to The Lord of the Flies, the green slowly starts to fade from the color scheme. Only a few plants and others have green, rather than almost everything that's green would be green
and of course, when Simon dies, the green is wiped out from the cinematography, leaving just Yellow and Red with the B&W. The red also starts to make more of an appearance, showing the more "strength" and "power" the hunters, and Jack, are getting, and the less of control, symbolized by Ralph's yellow.
As the movie nears the end the yellow slowly fades too as Ralph looses his power -- the conch breaking probably wiping out all the yellow, so now we're left with red
The color all fades to purely just B&W when the boat shows up, and it circles back to the beginning
