But also very understandable, for the times... He was probably sent to a boarding school and any traces of common accent fastidiously rooted out from his speech. Even if he was just a middle class or upper middle class, using Scottish accent would have done him no favours whatsoever if he wanted to progress in the society!

All very true. It just never dawned on me until tonight and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I’m always intrigued by Scots fighting for the British in the Revolution, because only thirty years ago, they were rebelling against England themselves. Of course, it wasn’t all of Scotland, but it’s still fascinating to me. Edmund sees himself as an Englishman and not a Scotsman, which is clear, but that’s another fascinating aspect of it all.

Hast thou ever spent a year like this, an avalanche of fear and uncertainty, a time of sheer and utter panic in a world torn apart over politics?

Well now you have and you survived it and so have I, the great Bucephalus. I have not shared my wisdom very often this past year, this you must excuse in light of the circumstances which have passed over, and still remain with us.

Dear Reader, My heart goes out to you, your family, related and found, loved and lost and loved again, and to everyone that has lost someone. While we must suffer through this for a little while longer, we must not forget what we have learned.

Humans love each other. Humans are willing to give up their freedoms to care for others. Humans are ready to help each other out.

And while yes, there are those that see their own inconvenience a higher price than another's life, we must still strife to better outselves and this world.

I shall be back which a quiver full of quips, a saddle bag of sugar cubes and the horse wisdom you have expected and received from me these past two years.

my favorite thanksgiving tradition is when your best friend comes over for dinner and starts acting all sus until the married woman he has a crush on, the king’s worst bounty hunter, and the guy who beat up your dad all show up and start arguing about these guys in green bean costumes, which somehow results in the bounty hunter with an eye patch to pull out a gun so you gotta go full on cowboy movie and whip out your gun even though you are a quaker and totally womp him because gunpowder?? in this household we only have powder for our wigs.
