What specific changes would occur in at least 3 of the Elements of Culture?
1. Language- The main language of Buddhism is Pali and the original language is Sanskirt. So, if Buddhism was the dominant religion a lot of people would speak Pali.
2. Art- The art might change, as you see a lot crosses now because Christianity is the dominant religion. You would see more Buddhas if Buddhism was the dominant religion.
3. Social- Discrimination would go down a lot. There would be less sexism and judgement in general. People would be more caring and mindfulness of the people around them.
What would need to occur for this change to be a reality?
People would have to stop being as judgmental as our society is. People would also have to have more of an open mind, and have more of an attitude of of peace, mindfulness and care.
How is it influencing the world in modern times?
Buddhist attitudes of peace, mindfulness and care for all living things have influenced many people all over the world. Buddhist believe that all things should be looked after: the earth, plants, birds, insects and animals. This is close to the feeling among many people in recent years that the human race should stop polluting the atmosphere and destroying the surface of the earth by cutting down forests.
What has happened in the world today that has led to Buddhism taking hold in these modern places?
It started in the middle east so as more people started to be buddhist, it spread, and as more people stopped wanting to believe in a god and more a way of life.
Buddhism is practiced in....
Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Japan, China, in some parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, also in the European countries and the USA. It is also believed that the Buddhism is practiced by over 500 million people.
