What if Gradient was the eldest? How would he be taking care of Paperjam?
How different would he act if he was the eldest?
Ok I ended up thinking about this way too much because the more I thought, the more I realise almost the entire AU wouldn’t exist if Gradient was the eldest. Like, the first fact is because Error would NOT have fed his ass. PJ was feeding off left over art supplied and ink puddles, Gradient would just perish also Error like, refused to touch the kids which would have way more psychological effects on Gradient.
But in the theoretical universe where Gradient survived long enough for PJ to be created, even then the REST of the story wouldn’t turn out the same either.
Gradient is a near carbon copy of Error appearance wise. Travelling from universe to universe he would be spotted by anyone who knew Error and attacked turning him far more jaded. Gradient would honestly develop a permanent glitch and probably struggle to talk to strangers, far more angsty and unhappy. Probably giving up on the idea of anyone able to help them.
Pj on the other hand would change a LOT physically but his personality is still similar but definitely different. Pj looked the way he did and had colours where he did because he was copying the one face he saw every day for 4 years. Error. But in a reverse AU. It’s Gradient he would be seeing meaning his colours would copy Gradients and also be inverse. Also extra note the goop at the top of his head is more wobbly to copy Gradient’s glitches. Personality wise, he would be a lot louder learning to be Griadient’s voice in public due to his older brothers social struggles. Though sass is there full force just to complain about everything. Angsty teen years yk?
Gradient due to his fear of large groups and new people would not agree to the employment terms of Core Frisk’s offer. And due to Paperjam no longer being the owner of the house, wouldn’t have offered Print and Palette to stay in order for Gradient to get over the Agoraphobia he developed in the normal AU. PJ never would have got to know his half siblings. And he and Gradient would probably still be living off stolen good well into adulthood. Though due to more free time I thing PJ would have developed more of a personal passion for the arts probably making street art in AUs they visit.
It’s like the more miserable version of them. Sorry Gradient.
Paperjam belongs to @7goodangel and Gradient belongs to @askcomboclub
