ok the odyssey spoilers woohoo.
first obsessed with the five minutes where I thought Matt Damon was going to hook up with Circe as played by Samantha Morton in that role. Finally justice for severely disheveled and mean spirited brunettes. We’re sexy too! But then it didn’t happen.
Second and my real point is distinctly remember at the end of the banquet / awesome arrow action sequence a few of the suitors kneeling down and Matt Damon not killing them, which is a huge departure from the book where Odysseus kills everyone no matter what murder murder. Odysseus killing everyone is like a huge part of the book bc it’s vengeance of the gods, kind of shocking, etc. This departure would not only make sense with what the movie is doing but also add to the moral argument bc it shows growth, mercy, etc. But no one is mentioning it. Did I hallucinate? What gives
