Buffy update

I lost Buffy today.

I don't know when or what happened. I didn't even get to be there. I just came home from work and she was at the bottom of her cage, gone.

In two days, I was set to move out into my own apartment so I could get a companion for her to keep her company while I am at work (I began full-time work two months ago). She looked fine this morning, and over the past couple days whenever she came out to play, she was energetic and sassy as ever.

Once last year, she had to go to the emergency vet. Her avian vet told me in the follow-up that she had some chronic stomach yeast that was usually present since birth and had been completely asymptomatic and manageable until then. That was the only thing that I could possibly think of having ever been an issue.

This still barely feels real. A cremation service will pick her up tomorrow morning, and I'll make a little memorial shrine to her in my new apartment or something.

This blog will always stay up as an archive. If I get another bird or two in the future, I'm not sure if I'll use this blog. If I do, this blog will always be buffythebudgie.

She was singing a pretty song, so I tried to record it and she stopped instantly. Of course, she started again once the camera was off of her.

what the fuck is unemployment. every time i want to write i have something else going on. i woke up today and got alerted to a parakeet two miles from my house that's been outside for a week now that i spent 4 hours trying to catch (almost got him but couldn't SOBS). I did get very close though!!! A little green baby, got close enough to tell he was a boy :) I'm gonna need name ideas lmao. also I got a job interview tomorrow that I'm gonna have to rush out and buy business professional clothes for tonight because i got like 24 hours notice on that lol

The unfortunate update on this little guy is that there really is none. I've spent three days trying to get him, but today, I didn't even get to see him and neither did anyone living on that street... I've been using all my free time for this but I miss writing and I'm tired. I'm only gonna go back if the woman who told me about him is able to confirm he's even still alive

I'm naming him Ozzie, whether I catch him or not. I can't save them all but I had to try.
