Pride Month Celebration Day #3: Trans Headcanons!

(I will only be including arc 1 + DOTC stuff)

Top trans headcanon: No matter what anybody says, Brambleclaw is a trans woman in my heart. Let her be Brambleflower <3

Canon/closest to canon trans headcanon: Since none are actually canon, I’m gonna say the closest one is trans man Firestar. He was originally written to be a girl, so I think that counts well enough.

Rare trans headcanon: Trans woman Dustpelt! I have 0 reasoning, I just really like it.

Least favorite trans headcanon: Trans man Squirrelflight. Some people just wish she was a man cause they think she’s annoying as a girl. Ew.

Overrated but good trans headcanon: Listen, I know torties can be males sometimes…but Redtail is trans. Redtail’s Debt solidified that for me.

Overrated and bad (opinion wise) trans headcanon: Mosskit. Yes, she was referred to as a girl and a boy in the same book, but she is a kit. Kids can be trans, but I just don’t like it for Mosskit.

Underrated trans headcanon: Trans woman Brackenfur! I could talk about her for hours…

Favorite trans man headcanon: I simply adore trans man Skystar. Sure, he sucks, but sucky people can still be trans. Always remember that.

Favorite trans woman headcanon: Ok yes another DOTC, Thunderstar. I love transfemming big buff men because what if they were big buff WOMEN?

Favorite t4t headcanon ship: Trans woman Brambleclaw x trans man Stormfur. They don’t interact in arc 1, but I love their doomed potential in arc 2.

Pride Month Celebration Day #2: Lesbian Ships!

(I will only be including arc 1 + DOTC stuff)

Top lesbian ship: Sandstorm x Silverstream! They’ve probably never interacted but they’re both pretty buff ladies and fanfic does enough service.

Canon/closest to canon lesbian ship: Since none are actually canon, I say that Bumble x Turtle Tail is closest to canon. Turtle Tail left the clans to live with Bumble and was sad (i think) when she died.

Lesbian rarepair: Sandstorm x Ferncloud! If Firestar and Dustpelt ended up together, that leaves behind two gals that could become wives.

Least favorite (non-illegal) lesbian ship: Frostfur x Goldenflower. Nothing against it, I just don’t see the vision, nothing special about it.

Overrated but good lesbian ship: Bluestar x Yellowfang! Definitely the top lesbian ship in this series, and it’s pretty solid!

Overrated and bad (opinion wise) lesbian ship: I know Foxheart isn’t directly mentioned in arc one, but Yellowfang x Foxheart. I do not like Foxheart and refuse to believe that Yellowfang would ever love her.

Underrated lesbian ship: Yet another Yellowfang ship, Yellowfang x Russetfur! The second Russet joined the clan, I hoped that her and Yellowfang would get more pages together, but alas, it is warrior cats…

Favorite toxic lesbian ship: Violet Dawn x Star Flower. Not toxic in canon, but DEFINITELY has the potential, both being Thunderstar’s crushes. If Star Flower still loved Thunderstar and not his dad when Violet Dawn came along, they might fight for him and then fall in love…take notes fanfic writers…

Favorite doomed lesbian ship: Bumble x Turtle Tail once again…why does Skystar kill every potential for wlw???

Favorite t4t headcanon lesbian ship: tfem Brackenfur x tfem Dustpelt! Of course, warrior cats’ weird thing of making Frostfur Dustpelt’s sister makes this weird, but I’m 99% sure none of you knew that they were related. Remove the relation, perfect.

Pride Month Celebration Day #1: Gay Ships!

(I will only be including arc 1 + DOTC stuff)

Top gay ship: Firestar x Dustpelt! I’ve been shipping them for about a year now, mostly fueled by a fanfic on AO3 called Arid.

Canon/closest to canon gay ship: Ravenpaw x Barley! I’m so happy they finally got a true book confirmation, they deserve the world!

Gay rarepair: Gray Wing x Riverstar! I think I would’ve been happier with the ending of DOTC if Gray Wing wasn’t in a loveless relationship, and it was so obvious Riverstar loved him.

Least favorite (non-illegal) gay ship: Tigerstar x Darkstripe. It just rubs me kind of wrong considering that Tigerstar practically abused Darkstripe when he was an apprentice, but one-sided is totally fine with me.

Overrated but good gay ship: Tallstar x Jake! Before reading Tallstar’s Revenge, I completely thought they were just being shipped because they were friends, but I totally see it now.

Overrated and bad (opinion wise) gay ship: Once again, Darkstripe x Tigerstar, for the same reason.

Underrated gay ship: Redtail x Oakheart! They didn’t have much chemistry in the books, but I like to imagine they got close at gatherings :)

Favorite toxic gay ship: Tigerstar x Redtail. They compliment each other in the worst way possible.

Favorite doomed gay ship: Firestar x Whitestorm! A controversial one, yes, but Whitestorm dying while thinking Firestar would pick Graystripe over him…the thought kills me in a good way.

Favorite t4t headcanon gay ship: tmasc Firestar x tmasc Sandstorm! I like to think that Sandstorm still identifies with femininity, but calls himself a tom, and Firestar was originally going to be a molly so that just fell into place for me. How’d they have kits? Don’t ask me!

Sheepshout, a nonbinary RiverClan cat. They have long, curly white fur with black spots and a stumpy tail. They are very very tall compared to other RiverClan cats!

When they were young, about 4 moons old, Sheepkit fell into the river while trying to catch a minnow. A ThunderClan cat bravely came in to save them, who they later learned to be Yellowshade. They saw Yellowshade go under the wave, and felt immense dread from the second she didn’t come back up all the way to their death.

Sheeppaw was a very disturbed kit. They were very grim and terrified of the river. They were bullied in their clan for being a drypaw, but it stopped after they attacked another apprentice.

They had almost blinded the other cat completely. They hadn’t meant to, and they felt blood stain their paws for moons. Practically everybody avoided them from that day, even their parents. The only place they found solace was with ThunderClan cats at the gatherings.

The ThunderClan cats admired them. Sure, they had been the reason Yellowshade drowned, but they all found it more inspiring that they gave Yellowshade such a legacy. Of course, admiration is not the same as friendship, but two apprentices in specific clung to them.

When they were addressed as Sheepshout at the gathring, their friends cheered the loudest. Their reputation even cleared up within RiverClan, as their clanmate finally apologized and forgave them. They ended up mates, but chose not to have kits.

Sheepshout’s life began with death and ended with life. When they passed of old age, a queen in the clan had her kits the same time. A strange coincidence, for sure…

Antwish, an agender River/Wind kitty, living in WindClan! It has reddish-brown fur with some white spotting, most specifically the paws. It is average height, which is slightly shorter than most clanmates.

Ever since it was a kit, Antpaw wanted to be a tunnler. It was dangerous, and it loved the thrill of that. Though there was only a few tunnlers in the clan at the time, it was allowed to become one.

Just before its warrior ceremony, it was in a tunnel collapse. It got out alive, but its back legs were paralyzed and it was partially blind on one side from the debris. The leader insisted it become a medicine cat, but it refused.

When its legs were as healed as they would get, it went right back to training. It was already past warrior age, but it had to essentially re-do all training because of its injury. Despite what happened, it continued tunneling.

It completed warrior training even despite its disability. The suffix -wish was there to symbolize how it wished to StarClan to thrive as a warrior, and they listened.

It eventually had a mate and kits, then grandkits, and even great-grandkits. It lived to be much older than most cats, being 17 in human years at its death. It died from a seizure, but it died happy and surrounded by family.

Berryice, a ThunderClan tom! He is much more feminine than his other clanmates. He has light brown fur with darker brown single stripes and little white spots on his fur. He is shorter than average, but most of the clan is.

Berrykit was born a kittypet, brought to the clans by his father. He wanted him and his kit to have a safer life away from Berrykit’s mother, who was abusive. As they found refuge in ThunderClan, Berrykit was already about 6 moons old.

Even though he started a moon late, Berrypaw caught up to the other apprentices fast. They couldn’t even judge his origins because he was doing so well that it wasn’t even obvious!

At his first gathering, he made friends with a WindClan tom. Just as they were getting close, there were shouts and yowls of confusion and anger; a kittypet had stormed into the gathering. Berrypaw’s mother. She attempted to drag him home, but his father fought her off. It was so embarrassing, he was sure he’d get bullied by his new friend, but he stayed by his side.

The clans were closer to unity at this time, and eventually the clans had multi-clan training sessions. Berrypaw always paired up with his WindClan friend.

They were named on the same day, and Berryice asked to be his mate the next day. He said yes, and they lived peacefully until the ThunderClan medicine cat found out. They snitched to the leader, and Berryice was banished.

He was able to join WindClan, and ThunderClan did not fight their leader for that choice. Everything was happy for the rest of their days, both dying of old age in the end.

Blazethistle, a molly-to-tom RiverClan cat. He is a short-furred tortoiseshell and is very short. He doesn’t excel in hunting, tracking, or fighting, because he is a medicine cat.

Blazekit was born with weak hearing. This had happened before, of course, but the medicine cat was much more concerned this time. There was a prophecy many moons back about something like this, but the leader chose to ignore it. A kit had nothing to do with a prophecy.

Blazepaw chose the path of a medicine cat. He didn’t like fighting, but was fine with seeing blood. He even made a herb garden so that they rarely had to leave camp to gather herbs, which let him and the other medicine cat have more time to focus on other things.

On the day he was named Blazethistle, a new leader was chosen. The previous leader died in a landside. As soon as Blazethistle was named, his mentor stepped down. With him as the only medic, the new leader looked to him for guidance.

Eventually they stopped seeking out Blazethistle. Blazethistle took it as the leader being rude, and refused to help them unless they spoke to him. They got more injuries that they’d leave untreated, and very quickly they only had one life left. It was only when the leader came to him on the brink of their last death when he became concerned.

The leader explained all the horrors they’d experienced through their leadership—they’d been being hurt by the deputy, who wanted to be leader instead. They knew their deputy was stronger, so they never spoke up out of fear, and just wished Blazethistle would help them. Because of their lack of communication, they died later that day. Deputy became leader, and ThunderClan was put through hell under the leader’s claims of prey-stealing and trespassing.

Blazethistle was killed confronting the new leader in front of everybody, but the rest of the clan overpowered new leader and killed them just after. ThunderClan was sent back to peace, and honored Blazethistle by making it mandatory for apprentices to treat the herb garden as one of their tasks.

Ashgravel and Blizzardjewel, a bigender RiverClan cat and a River/Wind molly living in RiverClan respectively. Ashgravel has thin, light gray fur with darker tabby stripes. She is slightly shorter than average, and excels in fighting. Blizzardjewel has super fluffy white fur and small black patches. She is decently tall and excels in hunting.

Ashkit and Blizzardkit were born only a few days apart to separate mothers. They grew up to be best friends, especially once they reached apprenticeship.

They were assigned mentors that were mates so they were more likely to train together. The leader saw their teamwork as a valuable asset for the clan. They trained during a time that WindClan had become aggressive, and they weren’t meant to patrol near their borders.

Of course, apprentices never listen. They wanted to confront WindClan for being rude, and stumbled across a 3 cat patrol. One looked identical to Blizzardpaw, just a tom instead.

The tom sent away his clanmates and started asking Blizzardpaw to go to WindClan with him. She denied, but he insisted. When she tried to run, he scruffed her. Ashpaw attacked him as best as he knew how, but she wasn’t strong enough, and the tom flung her away. Blizzardpaw was gone.

Ashpaw spent the rest of his apprenticeship aggressive and violent, refusing to hunt so she could train for fighting instead. He earned the name Ashgravel, and cried through the whole vigil. Blizzardpaw should’ve been there, too.

Time marched along. Ashgravel refused to go to gatherings out of fear she’d attack a WindClanner and make StarClan angry. Eventually, he had to. He was named Ashstar with no warning: the leader and deputy had killed each other, and StarClan wanted her.

At that first gathering he went to since she was an apprentice, she saw her. Blizzardpaw was there, up on the Great Rock. She was a leader now, too. Ashstar greeted her as warmly as he could without breaking into tears, but she pretended not to know him. Ashstar broke into a sadness-fueled rage, screaming at Blizzardstar as if that would make her remember.

The new RiverClan deputy dragged their leader back to the other side of the rock. None of the clans had crazy news, and the gathering stayed a bit later for general chats. Ashstar confronted Blizzardstar, more calmly this time, but she just blamed Ashstar for the fact she was taken to WindClan. RiverClan left early. They didn’t speak a word after that day for years.

WindClan and RiverClan were officially at war. The last time Ashstar and Blizzardstar spoke was in a fight, deciding who wins the war. Both leaders had one life left. Neither won in the end, as they killed each other. Their final words to each other were an apology.

Yellowshade, a genderfluid ThunderClan cat! They have thick pale ginger fur with some white patches. She is very very tall and muscular, though it is hard to tell cause of his thick fur. They look more like her grandmother than his parents. They excel in fighting and do very well in hunting, too.

Yellowkit was born a rogue, but was abandoned young. She swore to himself that they’d get back to her mother, but he never did. They grew up alone, no other kits in the nursery and an adoptive mother who didn’t want her.

By the time he became an apprentice, they were dead set on leaving the clan as soon as possible. Her mentor, the deputy, became like a father to him, and he even offered to help them leave if that was what she wanted. He decided against leaving because of the compassion from their mentor.

The leader was very corrupt at the time and refused to give Yellowpaw her full name because of his outsider roots, insisting that they only deserved to be an apprentice because she’d never learn clan ways. That’s when mr. deputy stepped in, killing the leader on the spot and announcing Yellowshade’s new name.

He became very respected from that day on, and ended up drowning while saving a RiverClan kit. Both ThunderClan and RiverClan honored their sacrifice, calling on a peace treaty that lasted many generations.

Needlekoi is a tom-to-molly ThunderClan cat. She has sharp, spiky gray fur with white patches on her body. She is so tall it is actually terrifying. Her clan is scared. She looks practically identical to her mom.

When Needlekit was born, ThunderClan was starving. She was the weakest in her litter, and her other 3 siblings always got more milk. The medicine cat said she would be dead before apprenticeship, yet she somehow survived.

By the time she was an apprentice, she was bigger than her littermates. She got healthy very quickly once newleaf hit and the prey came back. She spent almost all of her time hunting, scared that somehow starvation would hit ThunderClan again.

She was named Needlekoi early, and started calming down more with a bit of counseling from the medicine cat. In the midst of that calming down, she realized she was a molly. Most of the clan accepted her, but her littermates were disgusted with her. She didn’t care.

They didn’t like that they couldn’t break her confidence and planned an attack on her. Not to kill her, just to beat her up enough for her to “come to her senses”. Things went wrong, and she ended up killing one of them. She was sentenced to exile, and ended up a rogue until she was caught on RiverClan territory. They took her in after hearing what happened.

Things were good for a while. She got a mate and had kits with her, and eventually became deputy!…which meant she had to go to the gathrings. ThunderClan declared war on RiverClan for housing a murderer. She was killed during the war in a self-sacrifice to protect her kits.

Hmmmm maaaybe 21 and 78?

Eagleburst, a ShadowClan tom. He is an average height brown lykoi. He is extremely stupid, which somehow makes him smart. He’s an amazing tracker, and is good at confusing enemies. He looks like neither of his parents…but he does look like the clan leader.

Eaglekit was born during ShadowClan’s “prime era”, according to his mother. Him and his sibling knew very early on that she just said this because she was secretly with the clan leader, he actually sucked.

Being the stupid little kitten he was, he told the cat who was SUPPOSED to be his dad that mom was cheating. Bad idea, cause that got mom killed. The whole clan acted stupid, like they didn’t know her “mate” did it, but Eaglekit and his sibling knew 100%.

They grew up super close, even ending up with the same mentor because they refused to be separated. But during their apprenticeship, cats throughout all of the clans started going missing…Eaglepaw wanted to solve this himself, and found a cat that had been killing others simply because they wanted to.

They fought, and Eaglepaw thought he was about to be dead meat…until the murderer flung themselves off the edge of the gorge on accident. Oops.

Eaglepaw went home and was named Eagleburst very early, but demanded that his sibling get named too. Cats tried to make Eagleburst become deputy for so long, but he always denied because he noticed how deputies always get killed.

He was the clans’ detective for years, even though he was a total idiot with everything else. He never had a mate or kits. He ended up dying decently old from an extremely preventable head injury.
