LOVE THE MOSAIC SO MUCH Wow that must have taken ages to do. op you are so strong #also #what does it mean for someone who values freedom above all to have a written destiny?#<-op's tag #sorry i just want to talk about this theme for a bit.#chosen one stories have never been a favourite of mine. especially when it's only brought up late into the story #it often feels like it takes away agency from the character #and i know there are people who were disappointed with the nika twist. taking it as a chosen one twist. which is a fair interpretation #but personally i never view luffy this way. to me it's destiny being along for the ride with him. he'd be at this point regardless #like. luffy is nika BECAUSE he's luffy. he can embody joy because that's who he is as a person. it could never have been anyone else #he is where he is virtue of active choices he's made and the people who have helped him not because he's nika. but because he's luffy #and. granted. virtue of a little nepotism too.#he's always. always. authentically himself. inside and outside being nika. he's always luffy!#sorry for yapping. just to reiterate #incredible art. i really really love it. i love the details of the cuffed hands and i love how luffy is drawn and the everything else.#one piece
