TFW fighting over who gets to sit next to Cas; Jack is his son and loves sitting next to Cas at diners, on the couch and out to eat so he gets first dibs. Obviously . Dean will huff maybe but whatever. It’s his kid. it usually ends up with Cas being smooshed between Jack and Dean (he doesn’t mind he loves them both so much and it makes him very happy) even if there’s an empty seat next to Sam. Sometimes (mostly when Eileen is gone) Sam races to sit next to Cas after Jack’s already taken the other side JUST so he can watch Dean get frustrated and pouty. Hell move if Dean asks, key word IF. Dean having to bashfully explain he wants to sit next Castiel because— “Because— just because, okay? Move.” Makes Sam laugh every time he does it.

Dean doesn't eat after Cas comes back from the empty, well, he didn't before either but now that Cas is back, he's concerned.

When they're all at the table eating, Dean will just push his food around, making it seem like he's eating, he'll even drink whatever he's drinking at the time, but the food remains.

Over the days, instead of confronting Dean directly, he'll try and nudge in opportunities to eat whenever he can, like randomly offering granola bars, just little things and not just snacks either, but Dean either always refuses, or takes the granola bar and he'll find it back in the kitchen later.

Overall, Dean seems withdrawn, so one day when he's trying to read he gives up and sets his book down, because all he can think about is Dean, and he marches to Dean's room to ask about it.

Dean denies everything at first, like expected, but after a mild argument, maybe a day of tension, Dean finally opens up and reveals that whenever food is even mentioned, it just seems disgusting, revolting like it's not something to consume, why? Because he keeps having nightmares, about everything so far, it's like since the end all his worst nightmares aka "greatest hits" decided to all play back to back, and along with a lot of feelings to unpack, he just isn't hungry.

He and Cas talk, a long lovely meaningful talk with tears and fears all laid out and dissected, and eventually with Cas' help Dean feels comfortable enough to start eating like normal again, maybe even healthier...?

I headcanon that Dean has an astigmatism and he squints when he drives, no matter the time. Morning, everything is at a weird angle and the lines are everywhere. Noon, the sun is up but there are still shines. Evening/afternoon the sun is in his eyes and he can't see ANYTHING so he makes Sam drive. Night, the moon even has a shine and the streetlights dont help that. Uhm.. yeah. Astigmatism Dean😇
